Hi guys, I know this is also in my CR 125 build but in case some folks don't see it in there I thought I would share it on it's own. Pretty cool eh?

I like them all, but its especially nice to see the yz restored. They seem to be the least favorable resto subjects, from what I see anyways. Congrats

Thanks for all the nice comments, it has been a long hard road. Yes the RM is next but will have to wait until fall/winter because I need time to ride my newer bikes and quite frankly I am tired.... LOL

God, 87 was such a great year for mx! I was 15, 6 feet tall, and still riding an '85 cr80 lol. Didn't matter, cause I had a stack of mxa mags two feet thick and dreams of a bigger bike someday. Not long after I got an 86 rm250 (used of course) and spent about the next 3 years riding strip mine roads and trails, pretending I was bob hannah at unadilla '86 lol. Those are the memories that make getting old so tough.

Haha. I remember in the 1980s you would see tons of 16 year olds driving themselves to the track with their 80 in the back of their own truck. Doesn't sound too odd, but nowadays if you are old enough to drive you are most likely on a bigger bike.

My one regret is that I never had an opportunity to race. There were no tracks within 100 miles except for a short time a track opened about 50 miles away but closed not long after. My dad was a coal miner and sacrificed a lot to even help me but my rm, so racing was just beyond what we could afford. I was multi-time world champ in the theater of my mind though. I just recently got the mx bug again, so I've owned 5 bikes in the last two years lol. My 97 rm250 is my last though. I can't ride much due to back problems, so I keep it for memories and sentimental reasons. These kids nowadays that didn't live through the mid 80's and 90's missed out on some great bikes, riders, and ambience that era offered. The rest of us know how lucky we were lol!

The bikes look great.

Are they all for show, or do any of them get used?

They are all for show at this point, just to much time and money spent to get them dirty. I do plan on adding the RM 125 this fall/winter and maybe the cagiva and KTM if I can ever find them.

wpark89, I found all the PSI pipes new in the box for all the 87's including the RM from a vendor on e-bay. I thought it would be cool to do all new bikes with matching aftermarket pipes/silencers and since PSI is pretty rare that was the way to go. So I bought 3 CR pipes, 2 YZ pipes and one of each for the KX and RM: You can't have to many "new" pipes on hand.

When the RM gets done I will make sure to post " four new 1987 125's lined up" but this will be late winter or spring next year. I am currently working on a 2003 YZ 125 for my self to ride and I have yet to locate a 1987 RM 125 close enough to buy.

wpark89, that might work but that is a 2,600 mile round trip, not exactly close by.

MXM isn't posting here anymore. The self appointed vitalmx "copyright Street team" hounded him to death for reproducing a few old jerseys, so mxm went nuts and deleted all his posts lol. Bunch of keyboard copyright lawyers made it a big deal like he was knocking the porridge bowl out of the hands of THEIR kids, simply because he made up a few cool old jerseys that haven't been sold in decades.
