What constitutes bashing a rider? Fans are entitled to an opinion and the opinions here are relatively minor when compared with fans from other sports. My opinion is that family members should be left out of the equation. That, and laughing at an injured rider or hoping a rider gets injured. That's when things are going too far, but fans are going to be fans. Most of us fans are very ill informed of what these riders actually go through to be where they are so any comments should be taken in that context.

i would say bashing a rider qualifies as calling them vulgar names, as BobPA demonstrates above.

love how these guys call the riders douche bags, but i assure you the real douche is the one sitting on their iPhone or laptop posting to Vital.

A bunch of assumtions there.....Who referred to Dungey as a clean rider after he took out Hill and Tickle? and then this line?! "I like Peick but what the hell man did you see him in the TW how was your race?"......what does that even mean? I have yet to see Peick cry, but I HAVE seen Barcia cry over a race...AND IT WASN'T BECAUSE HE WON HIS FIRST MAIN! lol. IMO, a pass isn't clean if you don't leave the other rider room to avoid contact and/or force him into a tuff block.....Barcia didn't leave Weston any room.....AND he forced him into a tuff block. If that's your idea of clean, I'm glad you're not in my class. You probably see my tears from PA huh?
If you could read that would help I meant on the Transworld "How was your race" video. It helps if you can relate TW how was your race to that where Pieck bitches about Barcia's pass but slams the Dunge "full contact slam" is that better so I specified it for you? Barcia's passs on Peick was a traditional block pass.....

Everyone is worked up over that pass just because it was Barcia doing it. There was nothing dirty about it. Anyone else could have made the same pass and no one would have blinked. The guy is aggressive but give me that over someone who will just follow a guy around for 20 laps. It was gonna happen sooner or later, I'm sorry but there are 0 days a week where Peick is faster than Barcia. Dude should have just been happy to make the main straight from the heat.
Couldn't have said it any better

noone would complain about passes like he did on Peick, if it wasnt Barcia.
The problem is that he ONLY passes people like that. Even if its not necessary, he just plows into everybody - like he did to Hahn at some race, cant remember which one it was. I cant even count how many people have gone down this season because of him

This is the post of the year!!!
If a newbie says something even remotely challenging to normal low IQ crap around here, and throws in a F*bomb or a do*che B*g, he gets clicked.
If one of the high post count red-necked morons who 'remember the good ole days' or grease the moderator's pole do the same thing, nothing happens.
There are guys on here to have like 3000 or 4000 posts, and not one of them was worth a crap. The whole structure is completely bush league.
As for Barcia, who gives a sh*t. We don't need to argue anything on these forums, the proof is on the track, he's frustrated with his own performance, he takes it out on others, payback will come and he and his fanboys will cry about it.

^^^Truth^^^

Barcia is an exciting rider to watch, no doubt. I don't mine his aggressiveness at all, and I'd rather see that than a rider who is the passive follow-the-leader type...but he definately needs to broaden his scope of options where it comes to passing in bowl or 180 turns, a la Stewart and RV. Both of those riders could hold a clinic on 100-ways to pass a rider anywhere on the track cleanly without contact. Heck, Stewie could have parked RV last weekend if he'd wanted to...or hadn't had the respect for him that he clearly showed.

Barcia's pass on Peick was clean...or at least as clean as he gets. The issue with JB51 is what crusty_xx said...people expect him to all but take a rider out with his block passes because it's the only way he knows. He's a multi-time offender. If it had been one one of the back markers, nobody would GAF.

Here's what I like about Barcia....I watched him race at Modena in District 34 when he was on the 80s. He won his race( which wasn't a surprise) and as he exited the track he was surrounded by a group of his midget friends and they celebrated like it was the biggest race anyone had ever won. Barcia had a big smile on his face and you could see the love he had for racing at such a young age. He's still smiling like he was back when he was racing 80s. He lines up wanting to win every race. Even in the pro ranks that's not on everyone's mind. He's aggressive, but so was Stewart and Reed. The competition in the 450 class jammed in on a tight SX track with under a minute lap times means that unless you're RV/Stewart or pulled a top 3 spot off the line you better act fast. On an outdoor track Barcia has plenty of room and time to move thru the pack. Like many 450f riders, Barcia is enjoyable to watch. He loves racing and putting on a show for the fans. In that regard, he's like Stewart. I know "fans" like to cry about the economy and Mike Alessi and with Team Alessi heading to the North Country they will only have Barcia to cry about. On the other hand, I will enjoy watching him finish out the sx season and hope that he continues to consistently podium. Also, looking forward to the outdoor season and maybe some improvements on the Honda bikes.

"He's aggressive, but so was Stewart and Reed" - Neither one of those riders habitually tried to take riders out in corners by aiming at the other riders front wheel like Barcia. They both had more skills in their racecraft toolbag so they didn't have to resort to that move each time.

"I know "fans" like to cry about the economy and Mike Alessi and with Team Alessi heading to the North Country they will only have Barcia to cry about." - I have no earthly idea what you're talking about!

I'll bite. I haven't had lunch yet. You don't think Stewart raced aggressively?
Here's Mike Brown saying thank you to Stewart for racing aggressively

Mike wasn't about to take the inside line. His goal was to drop Stewart for being too aggressive at the start of the Moto

How about this one. Stewart was looking to dump RC in this turn. His timing was slightly off

Here's the result when RC held his line

Remember this day? Stewart landed on RC's back at Unadilla

I say this in the most positive light. Stewart has always been aggressive and enjoyable to watch ever since his 125 days. People bitch and that's alright but Stewart has always been one of my favorite racers. Barcia is aggressive but I don't see him taking out racer's front tires. There's banging and at times there's crashes. It's racing.

Barcia is a pure racer and will do everything he can to gain a position. He will most definitely not bitch about a pass made in the race. Yeah well except from the Vincent accident but that was a few yeas ago now. Hope he will shine outdoors!

We're going to have a difference of opinion. You will see only what you want to see and remember only what you want to remember. I remember Stewart on a 250 two stroke because Kawasaki missed a great opportunity to get him on a 450f. Still, he raced that bike in his rookie 250/450 season giving it 100% to pass RC's 450f. It wasn't going to happen but how can you not be amazed at Stewart's effort. I admire aggressive racing and the desire to win. Barcia's "Bam Bam" image is blown out of proportion. He's aggressive and on an sx track his passes are not as clean as RV's or Stewart's but these passes are not dirty either. "Fans" have booed Stewart, Alessi, Barcia, etc....most of these fans couldn't pull a top 5 in the Plus 50 "C" class.

Maybe there's another instance I'm not remembering... but the only passes Barcia made this season where someone ended up on the ground were his Roczen pass (Which Roczen could have checked up on and avoided) and the one on Mookie that really wouldn't have been that bad if his front wheel hadn't tucked and again could've been avoided with a little check up. Like I said.. only instances I recall, so go ahead and correct me if I'm wrong.

Even Dungey has taken out more people this year.

I really don't know, but I bet there is more, and even if there isn't, 3 take downs in a year means there are at least 3 dudes who are gonna hit you back...

Said it before, but you can't ride like that and expect to go for a championship, cause no one is gonna do you any favours and likely you are gonna lose some good points with some stupidity.

And it's not like its 3 this year and that's it. He's been hitting people left and right for ages. It just won't do you any good long term.

I agree with most of what you said, and yeah our opinions differ. No biggie. I'm a fan of aggressive riding, but not when it's uncalled for. I agree that Stewart, RV, RC, Reed, and most any other top tier rider has ridden how he had to in order to get a win. I think Justin is a great, and very entertaining rider...but I think he's pushed the BamBam thing too far where people will say anything that he does is dirty because they expect it. I do think if he would put forth some effort to learn that there are other passing lines in corners to overtake riders with and not just the line the other rider is taking...he wouldn't get all the flak he gets.

All in all, I agree that it's racing.

"Considering how Justin Barcia seems to thrive so much on combat, contact and conflict, you’d expect him to show up every weekend with a huge scowl on his face and fire in the eyes. But in Toronto we saw something else: A smile. And … glasses?

“There’s a place in Tallahassee I’ve been working with, they do some vision stuff like reaction and stuff like that,” Barcia explains. “They’re like, “We need to check your eyes first.” I don’t think I’ve really ever had my eyes checked since I was a little kid. Come to find out I’m pretty damn blind!

Now Barcia is wearing glasses throughout the day, and experimenting with contact lenses while riding. So far, he’s been unable to get used to it (he tried contacts during Daytona practice, but had to stop and rip them out) but he’ll keep experimenting and may consider Lasik surgery"

I agree with you on this one! If you slam someone and take them out to pass thats pretty shitty.

Oh lord do we have to remember every single fucking pass Barica does, to minutely disect his passing??? For goodness sake get over it everyone!!!!!!

Guy B - can we please have a ban on Barcia passing threads!!!!! :-)

I'm not a big fan of Barcia on the track. Just don't care for him. Off the track he seems like a cool mature guy but man he pisses me off when I watch him race sometimes.
