MOTO inspired tattoo sleeve ideas

Edited Date/Time 4/2/2014 8:47pm
I'm gathering ideas for an arm sleeve that I will be doing soon.
I'm wondering if you guys have seen any good ones or have any ideas.

I google image searched and found a couple ok ideas but nothing major.

So far I'm thinking maybe...

*trophy
*spark plug
*smoker piston
*sprocket (not likely)
*??

Maybe windham getting whipped somewhere in there
and/or a good berm shot.

Any other ideas?

Thanks.

I guess I could just do a big Bear holding a Vital banner?? :-p

It sounds like you are getting tats just to get them. If they don't mean enough to you to come up with them on your own, will you really want them in 10 years?

I've seen a few guys with 30 second girls and others looking like their skin got ripped open and some engine internals or a shock of some sort.

Every good moto sleeve starts with a Fox tat.

Incorporate a rainbow in there as well, it's a necessity.

An original fox racing logo, and definitely a monster energy claw.

monster logo, fox head, srh logo, maybe a Kottommouth Kings logo too, naturally.

not at all. I have wanted to do a moto inspired sleeve for many years but just never got around to it.
I've got plenty of ideas for it but thought I would see what fellow moto guys came up with.

thanks for your input though.

not a big fan of the torn away flesh look.
I have seen that Ohlins shock one though which was pretty nice.
The 30 second girl idea I saw as well.. I like the starting gate idea.

why not just contact metzger on some form of social media and fly up and have him do something for you? Can't imagine him giving you worse ideas than everybody just trolling you here.

it's going to be on your body for life, what better story than have the godfather of fmx doing your mx sleeve?

I was working on this for a mate, but he isn't vain enough to run it.Laughing
He's worked in the mines for about 8 years.

Personally I would recommend something based around the Bad Boy Club. That guy never goes out of fashion.

I'm still proud of mine. And my NKOTB tattoo. Timeless, both of them

When it comes to tattoos, something meaningful happens in your life and then you have to have it etched permanently on your body. You shouldn't want something permanently etched on your body and then go looking for what that is. IMO you have it backwards which means you'll probably regret it in a few years.

Not a sleeve but one time, at the track I saw a guy with his full size jersey name and number on his back. That's what I call a career number

Personally? I've got zero ink, but wouldn't be against it when the right design, right artist, right time and place all align. It hasn't happened yet, though. Wink

Oh, and as far as the most of the rest of the posts in here...people think I'm the sarcastic one? Whew!

I actually kinda like that sleeve. Not bad. I'm like you though. Just haven't found anything that I'm crazy about enough to live with it the rest of my life. Never know where life is going to take you and how much the tatts might hold you back. I don't judge those that have them though unless they're a M across the face. They're just asking for it.

While a lot of people are being rude, it is true that a moto inspired sleeve can easily end up looking really douche-bag-esque. I agree with them, but I will try to be a bit more helpful, as you can get a cool moto sleeve that is good looking and doesn't make you look like a bro-cal kid.

Honestly, just find a talented artist. I am not talking about the best person at your local shop. I am talking about the best person in your state, or your region of the country. You might have to travel far. I fly from San Francisco to NYC to get tattooed. I would actually recommend Mike at Flyrite Tattoo in Brooklyn. He's a burly dude. No matter what artist you pick, you should send them a fair amount of moto inspired images that you like (I would go for stuff from the above, more mechanical parts, than logos, or even a nice close up of a rut or something), and then have the artist sketch something up.
