About 6 hours ago Ellie said there would be a press release about Chad. Curious as to what they're going to announce since they've already announced that he's had surgery.

Just keeping the storyline going........I would imagine it will be " Chad had surgery ...Bring on the outdoors "

Unfortunately in this sport when your down and out, your down and out and your name will barely be mentioned...So I am sure they will do what they can to keep the posts coming...

I'm not completely sure what you are thinking here. However, it sounds dumb all around. It's funny how people used to say Chad was a crybaby, and how it has taken on a life of its own. For someone who just says it like they see it. I still laugh at "fans" who think it's all to keep their name In the spot light.

The series has definitely lost some of its excitement without Reedy in the mix. Hope can heal 110% and run strong outdoors.

Are you suggesting that it's not important for Reed to keep his name and the 22 brand relevant? I'm not saying that he's making a PR for that reason but the dude has a point to an extent.

They keep saying that they're fighters and that they'll be around for another year or two or whatever but I think the more time passes, the more of a chance that the retirement creeps into his mind. I don't think they'd be making a retirement announcement while he is still in the hospital however.

Chad also posted a picture of his race bike on Instagram, WITHOUT his numbers on it. Could be nothing, but maybe they're going to have some different numbers on there for a while? 15?

Hoping for good things ahead for Reedy. I never though I would like another rider as much as I did McGrath.

JT$ said not a chance that it will be Dean.

But I guess it could be another fill in rider. I'm wondering if Reed has a constraint in any of his sponsor contracts that requires him or the team to race to get his compensation.

Metcalfe is the guy that came to my mind. I think Pourcel would maximize the exposure but I'm not sure if he's in race condition or available.

Has nothing to do with him being a crybaby or not....My point was.... Unfortuately, when you are out injured...the sport moves on without you.....So, in Reeds case as a team owner/ solo rider, there isnt much more to do to keep your name in discusion (for whatever reason) than post the pictures or tweets when your not out on the track putting in good results.......And Yes, some riders want to be in the "spot lite".... In comparison, you dont see much of trey canard or milsaps....but they are not team owners....

Injuries suck.

CR22 was a hell of a human interest story this year and definitely a contender for the title.

The title race has definitely gotten a little less exciting.

Fortunately Chad's great performance showed the team's strength in their short SX season. I bet they will be working hard, behind the scenes, to secure another title contender for the team.

But will they leave the bike parked for the remaining 2014 SX season? A strong substitute would be a fun way to keep the team in the headlines.

I think he does it for his fans, not for the negative people who want to see wrong in it.

Does anybody know exactly what they did for surgery? I am sure they plated or screwed something together, I am just not sure if it was the collarbone or the shoulder.

I'd like to see them put Hansen on the bike for a few rounds. He's been out at Pala and Milestone riding and training on a new Kawi. Makes sense to me.

I don't know for certain but Reed said immediately after his failed practice attempt on twitter "Went to go for a time and shoulder either popped out or the coracoid process pulled off which is what we were concerned about".

From listing to this: Chad Reed: What's Next? sounded like some screwing going on.
