Mod it all the way as long as it looks stock!

Not sure as far as the mods go but I'm guessing you are a proud papa if you have a young one qualifying for Lorettas.
Good Luck

Spend your money on Tires and Gas.

Send the bike here. Some of the fastest "stock" , legal PW's come from Bobby.

Then there are only two more rules:

For the kid: Ride like you are Ricky Charmichael

For the Mini Dad: Don't be a dick to little Ricky Charmichael.

That's it! Good Luck!

Bobby has been around a LONG time. His shop is about 20 mins from me. I saw a PW that he worked on on Craigslist not long ago and the seller was asking like $3800 for it.

I can tell you we are trying to go too. I'll have my protest money ready because we'll be bone stock. It's PW 50s no reason not to be. It's just for funnzy's, actually it pretty much is no matter how big you are.

Here's my son on his pw50 that's had a couple of "things" done to it. Terrible picture quality.

Seriously? Spend $4000 to mod up a PW50? Maybe it's just me, but I think somebody needs to step back and think about how crazy that sounds.

I agree, but to each his own I suppose. I figure i'll wait until my kid doesn't have to ride to the track in a booster seat until I worry about any "mods" to his bike.

I have no experience with the pw, but my kids raced bone stock 85's from 9 y/o to 14 y/o in both stock and mod classes. Anyone want to guess over that 6 year period, on average, the difference in their finishes in each class? On average, they actually finished 1 place better in the mod class than in the stock class.

Whatever you do, do not go to their site and click on their "mini dragster" link.

I had no idea these were so reasonable priced....

Get the kid a pw, and I'll go for one of those....

Take hillbillies advice and don't take the fun out of it. I know a guy that drove two hours down the road to save fifty bucks on a bike then, went to a hop up shop and spent more making it fast than he paid for the bike. All it really did was up the pressure to get results. A couple of years into the kid's 'career' he got sick of it and quit.
