On the way to the Dallas SX it was a rough night for the new team.

Our new race team has been in the works for 3 months now, building bikes and everything else. We have spent a few months working on our new 32' stacker trailer, with new wrap, canopies, skirting and all that cool stuff for the race team with the RV. On Wednesday night just 1 hour from Dallas at 11pm, the driver had pulled over to a rest area to eat and clean up. After a little break, he was back on the road headed to the stadium. A few miles later, the stacker disconnected from the rv while going down the interstate, flew in the ditch and hit a telephone destroying the trailer and most everything in it. Once police got involved, it became known that this area has a issue with trailer theft. While he was at the rest stop, guys removed chains, and removed the nut holding the ball on the hitch with attempts to lift the trailer off the hitch so the ball slid off, hookup and leave. Driver started the rig, scared them off after they had just disconnected everything and he only made it a few miles before loosing the trailer. Trailer was locked to hitch, so they attempted to remove the nut that holds the ball of the hitch on and slide into new one to steal trailers in the area. The team has been working hard to get all of Jace, AJ and Vinces stuff to the track and fixed, so they can race this weekend. The world we live in is unreal, but thankful nobody was hurt, and guys will still be racing. Bummed we only had liability insurance on the trailer, and are out a huge amount before we even made it to first round. I've had a pity party with myself for a bit this morning, and now moving on and ready for all club guys to be racing this weekend! Thanks to all our sponsors for understanding, and something bigger and better will come together for us!

I more than anyone feel for you guys Gary. Brandon puts his heart and soul into that team. Its devastating, but at least you have the bikes. Yea, yea I heard all the nonsense about not having the right insurance, but when you are doing what you have to make the show, you cut corners, and hope not to get burned. It happens. Just regroup and move on. You will be wiser in the end. Smile
Good luck to all the Club guys this weekend!

I just don't understand the thoughts behind stealing a massive trailer with a huge, bright trailer wrap that stands out like a sore thumb. What the hell did they plan on doing with the damn thing once they got it. They obviously didn't need to go very far because going any distance at all with that thing is just asking to get caught

I doubt they were going very far, more than likely getting the trailer somewhere quick and emptying it

Damn. That is some tough luck there Gary. Hope you guys get things sorted out before the race this weekend. We've seen a lot of "Stolen bike " threads ( and trailers) on here.....thankfully they didn't get away with this one. It sucks that everything got damaged , but it's really cool to hear that the thieves didn't get away with anything!

Unfortunately, it probably happens because they are the smaller teams with less funding. It makes me so angry when thieves target these teams at the heart of the sport.

I'm just one of the riding coaches here at Club MX, along with Brandon Haas (owner) and Mike Emerson. The funding of the race team and rig is all Brandon's deal. I just copied and pasted Brandon's text from his FB page you guys know the news. I feel for Brandon and the team, sure hope they can get some good results Saturday: Jace Owens 410 AJ Catanzaro and Vince Friese.

They do it daily. Im into drag racing and its at least once a week when something like this happens. They usually take the whole rig.The worst thing is that out of all the rigs I read about that get stolen very few are ever found.

You pretty much were bothering them, car break ins are so far down on the list that sometimes they wont even take a report. When my ridgeline was cleaned out I just went online and filed the report just so I could send it to my insurance company. Pretty sad when you can file a police report online because there is almost zero chance of catching who did it. Pinch
