Another one of these "staged/fake" interviews? oh boy. I think Mike has matured a lot over the past few years and all, but at 0:56 he's talking about trying to show James his wheel and make a pass, but James cut down a little too sharp so they collided?

C'mon Mike, you whisky throttled that biatch, and would of went launching off the berm into the grandstands if James wasn't there for you to crash into. These are the things I can't stand. Instead of just admitting there was an accident, and I'll be back stronger next week, he needs to make up some bs story. You're better than this Mikey.

P.S. - Dirtnapper and Hut already referenced the 0:56 second incident.

- These are getting more and more brutal to watch. I can't believe MCR keeps doing these.

I've seen some of James videos and there more like him just talking about his week of training, his race, etc.

The MCR videos are like mock press conferences. I get what you're saying but it's just kind a little different for the team basically to be asking the team rider questions. I know they are trying to get Mike's thoughts, opinions, how the race went, etc out to the public. But I said staged because it's like a press conference where the reporter and the person being questioned are on the same team and they've already had the questions and answers mapped out and rehearsed.

That being said, Mike did look pretty good in the main before he crashed. I used to really dislike Mike and I won't say I'm a huge fan now, but he's grown on me in the last year or two. But things like the dungey handshake at washougal, the crying after heat race, and just exaggerating things (I came from 15th to 2nd before my crash, when really it was closer to 10th to 5th) Those things take away from his racing. If he just kept his head down, raced, and got rid of his dad, I think he'd be more successful,

But that's just my opinion, and I'm sure Genova and Alessi don't really give a shit what one dude on an internet forum thinks.

Technically, you are correct. But it does have an air of deceptiveness to it.

When _______ _______(insert rider name) is "interviewed" who does the interviewing?

Taft, Bates, Dalhgren, Emig, KDUB, RC, Matthes etc etc

Usually it is not by someone whose identity is a mystery to "us", which coincidentally happens
to be intimately associated with the team.

They could simply title it "Alessi A3 Post Race Discussion".

To me this is part of the crux of Team Alessi, no different than listing their bike as an MCR450!

Now, far be it for me to tell anyone how to run their program. I'm just stating that it comes off as feeling
"fake and staged". To me, and others as well. Which, once the perception is that, it makes little difference
if it actually is or not.

It doesn't matter if they keep practicing them. They need to lose the act of the girl being a newscaster/reporter. Just have Alessi talk about his week/race/thoughts/etc. It doesn't need to seem like a press conference. They do that and they'll be fine. If Mike keeps riding the way he is, (pretty damn good) and stop trying to exaggerate things, they would get a lot more people to cheer for em. Just my 2 cents

I do think the videos are good for his fans but they do have a sort of late night infomercial feel to them. I say keep doing them and we will keep watching them.

With Tony Alessi as his dad, I think the fact he's not a murdering psychopath is a huge success. Mike is a top 5-10 outdoors rider and maybe 10-20 sx rider. He's ridden for really good teams and made a lot of money, I think if just focused on his strengths and tried to fix his weaknesses, but left out the exaggerations, long speeches, riding with his head backwards, etc. he'd be even better. But he's already made more money than most of us have, and he made that money riding dirt bikes, something most of us pay a lot of money to do. I'd love to have half the talent mike has on a bike.

Agreed. They'd seem a lot more genuine if they were less formal, like Stew's.

I am guessing the girl interviewing Mike is related to someone on the team, clearly she has never interviewed anyone before and youd think mayber they would do another take to get the mumbles out....The JS7 updates are a much better route than the public access interview you see kids do while interviewing their cats......

For example (mike in trailer ).... PS this is just for fun.......they put it out there, so they have to accept the comments.

. " Hey Guys this is Mike... wow...had a crazy A3...I guess whiskey throttled it in the whoops and almost killed myself..luckily james turned down, I mean stayed in his line and prevented me from sailing over the berm into the stands, but I showed him a wheel and almost made that pass stick one handed..... My brakes broke in the main, but I want to thank Galiper for the great work they did in the Heat "

lol. that's awesome.

And the girl in the video is Mike Genova's daughter. He's the MCR team owner. When his daughter doesn't do the interview, I believe it's Mike's wife Danielle that takes over that duty. Usually you hear reporters asking the tough questions, but when both people are on the exact same team, or married even, things should go pretty smooth.

Who is the girl that sounds like she has marbles in her mouth? Seriously... how is there any thoughts by this group, that this could be a good thing? Wow. I seriously have been supportive of Mike, but it seems like this whole situation just gets more and more strange.

No mention of the fact that he was completely out of control when he drilled Stewy.. no big deal, but even make a joke about it... if he hadn't have hit James, that likely would have been a gnarly wreck! Oh well. Congratulations Mike. Not for a lack of trying that's for sure!
what's wrong with a chick with a couple marbles in her mouth?

hahahaha....Indeed, makes me want to go buy a jacuzzi cover for sure!!!!...

I am sure this was their objective (sarcasm).. " hey lets add to our catalog of being the laughing stock of the races and make a interview that gets ridiculed all day long"...,......They are clearly aiming for the "newcomer" race fans who dont know any better....

In all honesty, its always good to get rider input or comments....everyone has their own way of going about it... some do it better than others and some look silly.....

Agreed, nothing staged or fake and frankly these youtube channel videos are becoming more and more popular with a large diversity of business. Apparently it is supposed to help with rankings in native search results in addition to being an avenue to get the message out. I don't understand all the criticism of the video. Its a good effort by the team of getting the team's message out. If as a viewer you don't like it, then don't watch it. Simply change the channel (that's why they are called youtube channels)Wink

too many people bitching about the quality of the interview... at least they put out a fucking interview. it's like people are just waiting to hate on something, then they watch something they think is corny and they foam at the asshole to get on vital and start mouth-breathing their way to internet fame.

some of you guys just need to shut the fuck up and appreciate that Mike is out there giving it his all and then at the end of the day (which didn't end well for him i may add) has the decency to put a video online for his fans to get an update.

Vice versa.. EAD lovers. j/k

Seriously though.. I think most of us are poking fun at the AMATEURISHNESS of the interview and, well... Mikes delusion of the incident.

Most professional people, if they ever saw these comments, would want to try an avoid getting them again and might want to improve their product and not be laughed at...right?
