Watching Reed catch and pass him like that obviously something is up, Reed has never been able to do that to him before so it makes ya wonder. I hope he can figure it soon there's nobody more entertaining to watch ride.
This isn't the same guy today. Js7 starts last and catches reed when he starts first.

Look, I am a Stewart fan, just a bigger Reed fan. Stewart hasn't been "himself" since 2009... what you are seeing now is actually who he is. He's a guy who set a standard that many have caught on to. He then responded by over riding and crashing often. He's now trying to change that by riding a bit more conservative to keep the shiny side up. It's not going to change. Stewart will never go from last to first again in this type of field with such steep competition.
Stewie has blazing speed at A1...therefore he will have blazing speed at every race
RD is passive at Phoenix and A1...therefore he is always too passive
RV wins Phoenix...therefore he will win every race.
Chad Reed is back and showed elite speed...there fore he will have elite speed at every race.
JS7 does not look aggressive and edgy for two races..therefore he is washed up.
IT is comical how people on these threads again and again extrapolate ONE OR TWO races to the rest of the year. Every track is different. The dirt is different. The bike set ups evolve. Riders feel worse sometimes. They feel better sometimes. Sometimes they choose the wrong tire. Sometimes shit just goes wrong.
JS7s speed is still there. It is a mental sport. He has not been in the groove and feeling it the last few races..so he has not hung it out, and is taking what he can get. One other note...David Vuillemin made a comment on his Twitter during the race that JS7's rear grip did NOT look good. This was long before KR and Reed chased him down. Some of JS7's issues can be set up related. Look at Chad last year. How did he look for the ENTIRE YEAR? Was that Chad?...or was it how he felt on the Bike.
If you think that when the bike is dialed for Stewie...and he is feeling good...that he wont show speed that makes your jaw drop (just like CR last night), then you are pretty clueless. This is a guy who beat RV straight up at MEC...and went from P16 to P2 at A1. Suddenly...two races later he is washed up? Just absurd...
Take that, add it to his big A1 wreck, his Phoenix practice crash, his points deficit, and getting his leg ate up by RV's Green Monster, and you're looking at a Bubba who can't or won't push it to death.
He rode well, really smooth, and could've had that one, but Reed...just floated by Stewart, incredible speed, making it look easy. Again, Stewart looked like he either couldn't (worn out from the above) or wouldn't (slick track, etc.) fight him. I mean he just coasted out of that corner right after being passed, doing the little double instead of tripling, so that he was down 1.5 by the end of that section alone, then another .5 by the end of the triple-table section Reed was doing.
He possibly lost a second or more with Wey moving over in the whoops, but I'm sure Reed could've controlled it no matter what. Good for him. Reed attained a level of speed in 2012 that Stewart did not, and now it appears it's back. Luckily, I think Stewart is better than he was back then, too. This season, it's just gonna get better, folks.

Stewart's speed is still there.....he's just playing it a little smart right now I think. Which is exactly what he should of been doing. I like what I see.....and that's him trying to stay off the ground.
Everything came together, had the track wired and boom.
Wasnt stews night. Lots of pieces of the puzzle to make a picture.
