It's not just the riders anymore I believe it's the bikes now. The PC looks really bad in the whoops and can you see the bikes under powered?
Honestly, the other teams have just caught up. Rockstar KTM, Factory KTM, TLD, Geico, and even Star have upped their game. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that many of these teams are not reliant on PC to build their engines anymore. They either have factory help or they are in-house.
The Shop
DeCal Works Huge Plastic Inventory of UFO and Polisport kits.
Luxon 4-Post Bar Mounts
$189.95 - $239.95
Also, take alook at the PC bike's acceleration
And no PC bike has got a holeshot yet
Kong may be on to something...Mitch detuned his competitors engines? its a valid claim
Put Anderson on the green machine and he will holeshot and ride away.
Pit Row
Everyone caught back up when they stopped using PC parts.
Nothing wrong with the "bikes"
Peyton says the 4 stroke is killing his budget, maybe hes not paying enough and the talent is going elsewhere. Geico, Yamaha and KTM seem to have the "new" up and comers.
Back in 2008, I talked to Austin Stroupe and he won a National at Glen Helen. I asked him did he do anything different this year and he said no, but this PC bike is so much better than any bike he ever rode and he said it felt like cheating cause it was making all the difference. Wonder how Durham would be doing on a bike the public could buy?
He rode the best on that eleven mods honda!!
In the past Mitch's machines were so far ahead of the majority of other teams that the young riders would sign a PC contract for less money because they knew that it would it give them a good platform to launch their career and secure a profitable 450 contract.
Now the other teams have:
1. Stepped up their programs and have machines that are as good or not far off PC.
2. taken out their cheque books and signed the young and the fast.
Let's see what happens when we head East!
ALL ABOARD THE AC TRAIN!
It sure as shit isn't the bikes fault PC isn't on the podium.
Blame the rider not the bike.
