it almost has an "entertainment" feel to it as opposed to a "motosports racing" type deal

So then you have to ask yourself, which part will they keep?
20 rider gates and 15 minute main events are not moto. Sorry.
If that is were the riders heart is at to go sx only god bless them. Just so they know that there is another price to pay for doing so.

Geeezzusss..... wayyy too much "wanna party like a Rockstar!!??" and too little actual racing..... practice, which used to be great fun to get there early and watch, is just a freak'n joke since transponders came into the game... tracks were a joke..... hell, i could make the triples, and i F'n suck... back of the packers were pounding the whoops WFO in 3rd..... tv production and announcing were a joke as well... rider introductions took longer than the F'n main events..... need i say more??
With that said, it was only a few years ago that people were complaing about the SX and MX qualifying system. Now everyone is hating on the timed session. Its perfect if you ask me the top 40 fastest guys get in the show.
The SX heat race system provides some good racing. Somtimes better than the main events. Sure the show could be longer, but how long is a set when going to a concert? When compared with other forms of entertainment, I think its on par with the amount of time for the show.
Say you add 20 more laps to make it a 40 lap main, the top guys are going to just be farther out in front. Even adding other classes would be tough unless its a "vet" class. The Rookies and the women racers (no offense) might find supercross to be a bit too dangerous. This is only my opinion, of course.
Hopefully they'll sell SX right away. BUT Disney's involved, and Disney got a taste for SX with the X-Games, so this might just be working out in ESPN's favor...
Keep SX, but keep that style of track in SX-only.

Focus people, focus!
So far, it looks like just another name change on the door.
SX may not be "real moto" but its wiping its ass with the outdoors right now and that won't change.
LN owned a lease, and that'd be what they sold
When the contract expires, DMG can re-lease it or operate it themselves
Only reason DMG didn't take immediate control was because they had to honor the contract LN had with AMA Pro, which expires in like 2012
The only product actually "sold" in this deal is Monster Truck and IHRA Drag Racing
SX is not technically owned by LN
Thats why we stopped going to SX events last year. They have to make the main events at least 30 minutes long in both classes.
Stop being "anti-sport."
HAHAHA
Post a reply to: what should we think about this sx deal?
