So stupid, just like football preseason. Football and moto, pros should train hard in the preseason OFF the bike / field (mostly endurance conditioning), and only do very light, safe work on the track / field. Its so dumb when these guys get injured when it doesnt even matter... a total waste. oh well, some things will never change.
There is a lot of talk from rides saying they get hurt more pacticing then racing. When they are out just burning laps there mind wonders and stuff happens. That is why I think they should be racing every weekend they can. Go to a local race and sign up for every class they can.

Do you think they get complacent riding the same tracks day in day out... my lad reckons maybe a lack of concentration/boredom..... once you have a track dialled , busting laps is just waiting to fall off. I honesly think these guys who ride the euro winter series races are taking less risk than the ones staying home and busting out laps.

Dont think the same risks are there in the outdoors.

It's motocross, what do you expect? I remember looking forward to the U.S. team of RC, Stewart, and RV in 2007.

Could be a concentration issue.

Could also just be attributable to the fact that the majority of the time on the bike is spent practicing not racing.

What is Baggetts longest consecutive race appearance streak with the #4?

Just curious. Seems as though he has never finished a whole series with that number.

I'm pretty sure Anaheim last year is the only race he finished wearing it.

if you had ever rode an sx track you would know that what you are saying is near impossible

In other motosports they forbid certain cars after too many people got hurt or its too dangerous... time to do the same with the 4 Strokes

There are people that actually believe this.

If you blame a four-stroke for a blown ACL/foot, you're an idiot.

it's like the ufc, you can't train for this stuff at anything less than race pace- and shit happens at race pace.

dudes are getting banged up before the first gate drop. This is the sport.

We wouldn't have anything left to ride.

I am. Not about 4 strokes, but about managing the top speed of the bikes. Indy does it. When technology advances the speed to a threshold they lower the maximum displacement. I'm saying obviously faster bikes = bigger injuries.

It would appear that everyone is trying to be at fast pace for A1. Wouldn't it be better to be solid at A1 and build momentum in speed as the season unfolds?

Don't know, just asking.

Seems these days, you can't win it from the sidelines, but you can sure lose it there.
12/18/2013 11:51am
@Downard254
i understand what your saying but consider that you stay smooth and get to a1 and start building momentum like Musquin did last year and ending up on the short side of the stick at the end of the season , everyone knows Mushy lost the title in the first races last year.

I think you just cant show up at A1 not being 100% ready if you want to be in the title chase especially these days when the gate is packed with talent and speed.

But thats just my 0.02 cents

from what friends told me today , depending how severe the broken foot is , baggett can heal up in time for the east coast round . so i still think he can still race this season
