Home made KX 500, seriously!

Edited Date/Time 12/17/2013 10:13pm
Hey guys, check this one out. Here in Slovakia, you often see weird and wonderful bikes, but this one blew me away recently. I saw it buzzing around the track, but couldn't quite work out if it was one of them Chinese jobs or what. Once it stopped, I went to see the guy... he made it himself. He's also got a CR500, he says.. I'm trying to track down some images of this too. Cool stuff!

Judging by the shifter he likes to sit down a lot.

He actually showed up at a recent big race event here... I have a feeling he was in my class... never saw the bike on the track though, so maybe he was somewhere behind me. I does go well... I'd be scared of the welding on a bike like this, but he's confident on it.

Slovakia eh?

based on all the cheesy gold paint everywhere, I'd assumed he was Persian (and maybe he is) Wink

the bike is gaudy as hell, but thats just a matter of taste, rrriiiiiiighttt? otherwise it is sort of cool. definitely unique.

...more than likely it is terrifying. not in a good way. I mean, some of the Big bore smokers made by major manufacturers were terrifying, so I could only assume that this thing wants to remove your head from your neck at all times.

I just can't work out what the frame is... looks like a bunch of road bike parts and just odd bits all welded together. Unfortunately the guy don't speak English, and I don't speak the local language, so we just had to look. He didn't mind us taking photos, he seems quite proud of his work.

Nice pipe and slencer combo. I love the green Krylondized chain (RV can't even get that). I give him kudos, he must love to ride and build stuff.

I still admire the gumption. I mean, he put a friggin 500 smoker in it, and for that, I give him props.

thanks for the pics by the way.

I would rather ride the 1975 CZ 400 that scared the living shit out of me when I was 14 yrs old, than ride that thing.

Slovakia. That asshat Fanelli claims he's a Brazilian/Italian mutt, but that wouldn't be the first lie he's told. My favourite would be "All work done to above Honda and Kawasaki standards." Must have been the standards from about May 1945, hard to lay a good bead of weld when you're dodging 500 lb incendiaries falling out of 400 B-29s. Another one, "We stand behind our work, and will work with anyone." At least he's smart enough to not stand in front of the shit he builds, you never know WHAT'S going to break at the worst possible moment. That, and suckers are hard to find close to Toledo.
Then again, he does claim he's selling bikes worldwide, so maybe he's told one truth. Sure LOOKS like the kind of shit he builds. One thing is for sure, that is likely a death trap. Moto, you should be grateful he was behind you, and not fast enough to catch you. Something's would be universally considered good looking. That bike ain't one of them. Jesus.

I like the headstay... It appears to be made from plumber's tape.

That is what I thought too. You could put a 300 lb guy on it and case a triple and still not bottom out.

Good to see that rednecks are not exclusive to the US. Laughing Is that a heater hose mid-pipe?

Dude built his own Kawenstein in the garage but let the experts over at Michelin build his bike stand.

Proof that anything with two-stroke attached to it will get you props on Vital.

Holy stinkbug Frankenbike.

I actually don't mind the look of it. The frame's geo would need to be changed, and reworked, but surely the weight must help with the power?

Surprised there isn't a WheelieBoy on it.
