A mid 1930's Indian Motorcycle on tonights "Bonnie and Clyde" on The History Channel, A&E and Lifetime. first time a show has premiered on 3 channels.
This bike was very backwards to me. The clutch was left foot operated, forward to dis-engage, back to engage. throttle on the left hand. Timing adjustment worked like a throttle on the right. Brake on the right foot and it shifted by hand on the right hand side.
I learned all this, 5 minutes before filming, on a dirt road, playing a motorcycle cop that comes up on Bonnie and Clyde. The owner was right there watching and was very nervous I was going to dump his pride and joy. It certainly was a pressure situation.
If you get a chance to check it out, I am the stunt double that doubles Clyde (Emile Hirsch) Car crashes, fights and gun play. It sure was an awesome show to work on.
For the haters, save it. I already know. "Cool Story bro" "Stunts is a dumb career" - I have already heard it here.

You have heard that here? I missed that, I always thought you never got anything but that is fucking cool remarks. Mainly because that is so fucking cool. Performing Hollywood stunts, really, Is there not a cooler fucking job?
I didn't know a 1930's Indian was that complicated. I always thought it was just the left hand throttle thing. I tried to imagine riding it. lol sounds like a bitch. How did the clutch work? You had to have constant pressure on it for it to go?
I was sweating bullets as I was thrown onto this thing as a "motorcycle expert". I was doing something else in this movie and was thrown into this spot because of the bike. I learned it in just a couple minutes. All eyes were on me and I was nervous as could be.
Sounds like a Bucket-List ride.

I love those old bikes but they look sketchy as hell to ride.
The clutch looked like it had a double pedal.
Here is the clutch side of a 35 Indian at Barber.....was it like this?
Here's a 1930 Indian Scout where I think it is the same kind of shift/brake set up.
the top bike has the clutch I had used. It was a double peddle. Heel / Toe. I have pictures, just do not know how to post them!!!
THX.
Fridays page. Funny, the ad at the top is for Bonny and Clyde.
David Barrett produces and directs now. He was a great stuntman. He actually gave me my start in my career when I was still a pro rider. He stunt coordinated that Disney movie "Motocrossed". I stunt doubled a couple the riders on that but mostly just the girl that rode.
I am close friends with Stanton Barrett, David's brother and professional stuntman / Nascar driver.
And yes, the Barrett family is directly related to the Mccoys (David and Stantons G-pa) who opened and owned Mammoth Mountain for years.
When I was a kid on 80's, David Barrett showed up and rode 125cc pro one year and was putting it to the field with an open face helmet when they were obsolete. He was a hero up there and one FAST local. I still remember wondering, "who is this guy".
He post's on the Proride message board all the time.
He's a good guy, goes fast on a dirtbike with his fused wrist too!
Pit Row
I know guys that race classic road racers and will ride bikes back to back with throttle and shifters on opposite sides, i have no idea how they can do it, I can't even get used to a road race race shirt pattern which is opposite to a motocross set up,
No hatin though. If I could pick that job and had the sack, i'd be there.
