Just rewatched Las Vegas this morning and was reminded about his speed. Is he back in AX or is he going to race sx?

He signed a 2 year extension on his AX contract, I imagine for a lot more than he could have made in SX.

Hmm. He showed that he's a front runner. I'm surprised Mitch didn't make it happen. Maybe he tried and just couldn't convince him.

He had already signed with Babbits before he raced for Mitch.

i have a feeling we will see him under the PC tent come 2016. Stamp it. He's young enough for that to be possible. Hes a big kid but hes a few years younger than me and I am 25.

He said on the Pulp show he didn't even get a call to race SX in 2014 which seemed very odd to me.

I don't think its that bad. pro Circuit has been known for paying riders very small amounts as far as a guaranteed paycheck, with most of the riders money coming from performance bonus type pay, and the best bike in the class under them, whereas he can go ride AX, win 40% of the mains, walk away with another championship and a good chunk of guaranteed money from his contract.

Not sad at all.

He makes more money and keeps a lot of miles off of his body.

Plus, he showed in '13 that he has the speed to run up front in SX -- so no feelings of not being good enough.

Moreover, he also said he wil be attending college during the year.

I'd say he's in an absolutely perfect situation.

he's committed to school (college) and AX. probably one of the few that realizes mx serves up a brutal truth around the mid 20's to 99% of the racers.

Gotta give Bowers kudos for giving his education the priority.

I believe he is stating that it is sad he can make more money in an inferior series. I give up on paying attention to this kid its never going to go where the fans want it to. Just hearing him on pulp you can tell the kid is very clear about exit strategy at an early age

Bowers just placed 8th in German SX,must have been down to a bad day at the office, the guy's a class act and it's a shame he's not lining up next year but he's made a smart move and I'm pretty sure he'll be backwhen it's time

I also wonder what college he is attending. I sure hope it's a degree in a field that has a decent pay. Wouldn't it be a letdown if he was majoring in art or some other worthless degree?

Uh? Not really... The point is, he already had signed a contract with Monster/Kawi/Babbits before he got the fill in ride with PC... then he did good and won a main after he had time to fully heal up... No one talked to him about a ride for 2014...

He could spend a lot of his own money or break even to privateer it in SX or make quite a bit racing AX and possibly get a SX ride in the future...

Sipes and Craig retired this year... Wharton? Izzi? Chisholm has nothing, same with Kiniry... Peick, Albertson, Blose, etc are doing their own thing. I'm sure Bowers would prefer to be on a top team in SX but you can't blame him for choosing to get paid instead of paying to ride mid-pack on a bike he has to pay for.

Wharton has something. I'm sure we will hear about it soon enough.

I noticed PC has more of a presence on the Babbitt's AX team this year. He's still fairly young, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him under that tent again in the future.

I am sure Monster and Kawi value the AX Championship and have other guys hired to bring the SX one home too.

Regardless, the guy can obviously ride extremely well, and if you've listened to him on the AX broadcasts or his interviews, he's a great interview and a great face for the AX series to continue to grow as well.

This is probably heading towards a non moto topic. But I think the degrees are more important than ever. In my opinion, the market has changed and the old school method of dedicating yourself to school (with no job) right after college is the big mistake these days. Employers look at experience as heavy as your education and if you have an education with no experience, you're useless. I think the more strategically responsible move is to find an entry level job somewhere while you're in college, and build your resume while you're getting your degree. Even if it means dragging your 4 year degree out to last 6 or 8 years.

Hell, I hate to admit to this but I've been in college since 2004. Haven't taken a semester off but I've only taken 1 or 2 classes semester because that's all I can commit to financially and due to time. I currently make a healthy living. Nothing over the top but it's more than some of my recently graduated buddies are making. Some of them even have masters degrees with huge debts.

I don't spell very well...but what does that mean when you really get down to it?
I didn't even graduate high school but I am far more accomplished than anyone I personally know at my age.
A buddy of mine went to school for 5 years straight...50-70 hrs a week studying. He was one of only 2 guys from his class that even got jobs. I made more money than him last year running my own business and I have weeks on end I take off to race multiple times a year.
I personally don't care if I miss spell a word or didn't study a book someone else wrote. The satisfaction I have for taking my own road, making it work and being one of the very best at what I do is something I am very proud of.
I hope Tyler gets what is is after though...not a knock on him.
