Wow! Man, he knows how to ride it perfectly. I cant see why the guy was saying he wasn't carrying momentum in turns. The only turns he slowed was the sharp turn right at the end, but he slowed up each time to adjust his gopro. He did excellent in the turns and rode it better than Ive seen anyone ride one, out of all the 125 and 250 vids lately. The front wheel came up slightly out of seveal turns. That was sweet! I love Musquin's smooth style, even with a hyper bike like the 150. Excellent!

i love how he showed how you need to keep up with the corner speed and take wide lines to keep your momentum. you could tell he was working it to get around that fast. i loved it. between this video and one a couple weeks ago of a kid on a yz125 (ryan surratt) shredding, it kind of pumps you up to get out and have some 2 stroke fun! haha!!

im taking it that he was just being a smarty pants with the turns comment. i absolutely loved watching him stretch it out a couple times on that 1 jump to just barely make it.

That was incredible!
He was so aggressive on that bike it was ridiculous. You could tell he was feeling boss status at 6:15 when he threw that whip after passing that dude. He's probably still having wet dreams about that day

That was just stupid fast. I don't think my puny brain has enough horsepower to process all the info coming at it at that speed.

Does Marvin have a background on 2 strokes? Most of the kids in the 250 class today have grown up on 4 strokes, so when they get on a 125, they over rev the snot out of it (throttle pinned in mid air, hitting straights a gear – or more – too low, etc.). Marvin seems to know exactly what he's doing.

Why? No ruts, it's like a highway. Jumps looked fairly safe too.

He won the 85cc World Championship in 04 and the 125cc one in 06. I believe from then on he was on 4strokes

Marvin got so much talent that it's almost silly. His effortless riding is such a joy to watch. I swear that sometimes it doesn't even look like he's trying, but still, he manages to get into the top spots.
Wouldn't surprise me at all if he wins the title 2014, both indoors and outdoors.

How cool it would be to see a factory 150 racing against the 250Fs. . .

If this video doesn't make you want to see a 125-150cc 2 stroke class in the pros, I don't know what will.

I think videos like this are the best argument for a 150cc class and a 350cc class, period. I would so much rather see guys wringing out 144s and 150s any day over a 250, 4 stroke.

watching someone ride a 2stroke fast just makes the 4 strokes riders look so lazy. and rightfully so they are, with endless amounts of torque on hand you can go into a corner so much slower and still get out. bad habits galore. i dont think anyone can agree that the 4 strokes have made better riding style and faster riders.

This argument always makes me face palm. You just watched a video of a guy who has ridden mostly 4-strokes for the better part of a decade but you act like he's the only one in the world who can ride a 150 fast? The real truth is anyone fast can rip on anything with 2 wheels no matter how many strokes. Keeping a 2-stroke "on the pipe" is something slow guys have trouble with. Fast riders can adapt to anything, often within just a few laps. They'll rip a 2-stroke just like their 4-stroke.

This has nothing to do with strokes. Today's riders are just as talented as they ever were and far from lazy. Most people can't fathom the amount of aggression, intensity, and raw speed out there now. If you had a current pro drop in and rip a rut at speed right in front of you, your jaw would hit the deck.

interesting. so put a novice rider on a 55hp 450 in a tight section. on a 2 stroke if hes not set up perfectly, in the right gear, on the pipe, ect or its not do-able. on a 450, he can goon it thru the corner and blip throttle and clear it all. how does this not make the rider lazy? your'e saying that a 450 isnt a forgiving bike?
every time i go out to the track i see some goon novice kids dropped elbows with horrible form, and you can tell they are moving faster due to being able to haul ass on the straightaways. fact is if they were on a 2 stroke their riding weaknesses would become way more evident. this isnt some mystery. i guess the same thing could be said for a 1980's cr250, it takes more skill to ride that than a newer bike fast.
best example is during SX, those guys mess up in a corner and 90% chance they can blip it and still get thru a section. making errors isnt so costly with a bike that can clear anything in 20'

and i agree, at Marvin's level the level of bike isnt as important. that dude could pass me on a 14' aluminum boat with wheels using a canoe paddle.
