2013 kx450 vs yz450

That's funny, I have literally the exact same problem, 145 lbs! Just hit stuff really fast, it seems to help a bit until you get out of control.

Actually I have a friend that rides a Yam and one that rides a Kaw. They both like each bike. I don't think you can go wrong either way. Like all bikes, they have upsides and downsides. Pick the one you like the best and go have fun.

My buddy picked up a left over '12 YZ450. He put on a GYTR slip on and got the Yamaha tuner and loaded the Dr. D map. Then he put on the Dr. D engine relocation kit. The bike freakin rips and has killer top end. Since I have a Honda, I am jealous of how nice, simple, and cheap the Yamaha tuner setup is. Honda makes it such a hassle. The Yamaha clutch pulls much easier than the Honda and of course the SSS suspension is really nice. The only thing I don't like about the Yamaha is that it is really tall but that's only because I am short. I can see where it would be really nice for tall guys.

You have to keep in mind that these guys test bikes every day, every year. I have a feeling they are going to feel some things that you or I might never even notice. While those bikes tests are a great place to start, I don't think they should be your deciding factor. I haven't noticed anything too bad in the handling department, just a little front end push. BTW, I can't say if the Kwai is just as good but the fit and finish of the yami is excellent. Choose whatever bike you want, but factoring in the prices, I would go blue.

IMO no, the bike is a solid choice. my son goes 155lbs and he loves his. we put different springs and valving to suit him and he has never complained, actually likes it better than his 250F. if you do go with Yamaha and decide you want a tuner let me know, going to be letting ours go. we have a custom map that a friend gave us that Derrick prefers. there are quite a few out there to try. I would recommend throwing on a slip on, it seems to take some of the hit out, we had great luck with the FMF. other than that throw on a 50 tooth rear sprocket and have a ball.

Well, you still have to pay 8% or more sales tax from a dealer which makes this one upwards of $6900. I paid $7200 OTD for a brand new KX450F here in NorCal in the summer.

The Kawi is a very good bike. I came off a '13 450SXF which I really liked too but I have and like the Kawi just a little better. It was more comfortable right away. As someone said before, if you are halfway decent rider you can easily find the air forks too soft.

But honestly I've ridden all of the current '13 bikes (and none of the '14s) and think they are all good. Just get something for a good price. They all need tweaks to set them up anyway. .

I wish I could find a $5900 2014 YZF450.

Everyone I know with the 10-13 YZ loves them. Literally like 5 guys who know their way around a track/bikes don't have complaints, especially after a revalve.
