I just don't get it... it's out in the middle of no where where the transponder has the ... sorry it doesn't matter.

Just sad beyond everything.... move the damn race, hell New Mexico sounds close enough.

Has this been completely confirmed yet? The twitter/facebook section of racerxonline.com has a few comments about it possibly not being true. I'm really trying to hold onto some hope that this is all some misunderstanding.

My inlaws have spoken with a few close people to caselli"a crew. As much as it kills me to say his close friends have confirmed it. I hope somehow I am wrong and the people we have spoke to could somehow be wrong but it's not looking so.

Such a fucking bummer. Don't really know how to feel or what to say

Wow...this is such bad news. I honestly can't believe. Kurt is one of my favorite riders, and I've bumped into him several times at sign ups or walking the bomb run at the Utah national hare and hounds...always nice, and very respectful...even to a nobody like me.

I considered him one of the best all around riders in history and he was just about to start a new chapter of his career with Dakar.

Didn't he just get engaged?

His life ended too early. The off road community-what am I saying, THE WORLD-lost a great guy. Tragic.

My thoughts and prayers are with his family and close friends.

After having to shorten/change course due to militia's and cartel violence I would think a SCORE boycott would be forthcoming.

How about it Fish? I love Dust to Glory but I don't think Baja California has the same appeal anymore.

RIP Kurt. Truly one of the baddest dudes to swing a leg over the bike, no matter what type of race. So sad, so pissed and so bummed for his family, friends and the sport.
