6'4 ish here, renthal 998's and the bar mounts on my triple clamps as far forward as they go. plus fastway lower pegs

its a pretty normal set up, my 5'9 friends ride my bike and love the open cockpit feel and the room to move around on the bike.

funny thing is though i have a PC lowering link that drops my bike 10mm (seems wrong being so tall) but love it, my bike is so stable through choppy stuff.

That Pastrana guy has a championship and on a 125 none the less. I think that his memory may not be so good.

CR Highs are one of the worst bars for a tall guy, imo. They are actually quite short, and they have a LOT of sweep, which makes you drop your elbows and makes the transition from sitting to standing more difficult.
They came on both my bikes when I bought them and seem to work fine for me.

When I was on my supermini I ran big bike bars on my bike. They were extremely low and wide, and I was huge on it. I felt a lot more comfortable with them, then with the fat bars I used to run.

I'm 6'2" - 6'3" and run Fastway lowered pegs, 20MM bar risers, with Mika CR High bars, mounted as far forward as possible.

6 2 here. Tried RC high renthals, now use RC bend with bar risers as far forward.

Haven't tried the fastways, but I might, I feel cramped seated in corners because my knee braces limit movement. I'm against the idea of tall seats.

The Fastway pegs didn't make as much of a difference on my KTM. I remember on my CRF they were a big improvement.

I'm 6'2" and never understood the bar risers for taller riders. Taller riders have longer arms thus they can reach the bars easier, even though they are further away. That's how I see it anyway. Every time I try something that should fit taller riders better, it just feels awkward, like the forward post mounting position on the newer KX 450 clamps. Feels like I am waaaay to far forward over the front end creating serious handling concers.

Love it when people say shit like "this is fact" and don't know what they're talking about...

Mike "Too Tall" Bell was 6' 4" Supercross champ

Travis was like 6'2" or 6'3" National and Regional SX champ

Travis Preston is 6'3" Regional SX champ

KW is 6'2" Regional SX champ, MX icon!

Davi is 6'1" Regional SX champ, 2 x Vice Sx champ

Ken DeDycker is 6'4" Multi GP and MXDN Winner

Jacky Martens is 6'2" or 6'3" MXGP world champ

Joel Smets is 6'2" multi MXGP world champ and MXDN winner

Joel Roberts was 6'2" multi MXGP world champ and MXDN winner

How tall is DV? 6'2"? He won a few races, not enough apparently

How tall is Decoster... He didn't win shit either right?!?

I always got the impression he was somewhat lanky looking at him on a bike, but regardless, say he's 5'10 or 11, and therefore at the upper end of that echelon, he's done heaps as have the others I listed.

Heightests are usually people with small man syndrome!

6'3" and i too run a windham bend bar straight with the forks. I also run fastway pegs in the low position. I am going to run a slightly taller seat on my CR250, but only because its slightly taller than stock.

This is completely a comfort issue. If the stock bend makes you feel too cramped on the bike then try a taller bend. But going higher in the front definitely has an impact on cornering so you have to take that into consideration.

I am 6'4" and ride a Kawi...bigger feel than the other bikes. I bought the Outlaw tall risers and run the Windham double wall Renthals. It works really good for me and when my buddies have ridden my bike they say its a bit tall for the 1st few laps then they don't even notice it. Most of my buddies turn faster laps on my bike than they do their own. I also had my suspension done to ride higher in the stroke which also made a big improvement over stock.

Its all about what makes you most comfortable.

All my bikes have bar risers, a few degrees forward and fastway lowboy pegs......ha..I' m 5' 8" but my inseam is 33" .

When I was fitted for my mtn bike years ago the tech said I had real long legs and he would have to set the bike like I was we'll over 6 ft tall. High post and seat back to get the leg to peddle angle correct. High rise stem with a short extension.

So when I got home I took a long look at my mx bike setup. Then I recalled that on my 1970 AT1 MX, I more senior rider and friend suggested and helped me to lengthen the swing arm and raise the rear axel bit, and then we lowered and moved the pegs back......made a whole new bike for me!!!!

Also for the record of tall riders, Valentino Rossi is 182cm tall, just under 6'. He's ok I guess. 106 GP wins and 9 world titles, no big deal.

Marquez is 168cm so he's no giant but he still towers over 158cm Pedrosa. Lorenzo, my pick as the fastest of the three atm, is 171cm.

That was a hell of a race at Valencia though. Really enjoyed those first ten laps.

HA! You guys are too funny. I was joking. And I never said I was short or that I wanted to have a dick measuring contest...LOL

But it is pretty obvious that smaller guys are better suited to succeed at the high levels of MX. MC, RV, JS, and of course RC being the obvious example. Walk through the pro pits sometime. It's like a midget wrestling convention.

At about 6'2" I run ProTaper's Windham/RM-Mid.

Compared to Renthal its basically the same as the RC/Honda bend.
