On lap 6 on the same jump he crashed on? If they build the SX tracks with those types of technical sections along with difficult whoops, James is going to be very competitive against RV in 2014. I don't think RV was comfortable doing that jump at all, but felt the pressure to do it in order to beat James which ultimately led to the crash! JMO and oh yea, sorry for stating the obvious.Wink

I thought his actual crash was weird as well. He did come up a little short but it looked saveable. His foot looked like it slipped off and then everything went to shit.

That was a techy jump section and that is where James shines..

So little room for error landing in between the little table and next jump face, James executed it perfectly and forced RV to take on a section he would probably rather not,, But that is what James can do to his competition, force them into shit they may not be comfy with.. But track design has something to do with that keep the tracks easy and RV gets away.. zzzzzzzzz

James did it smooth every time, even when Roczen ran it in on him in the corner beforehand. He is riduculously talented, I just hope he can get a few more titles before he retires and live up to his potential.

The first time RV almost bit it was in the first turn main #1 diving under Dungey.... Looked like he jammed the knee pretty good on that one....

I have no idea how he cleared it after Roczen did that. I was like yeah he's probably just gonna step on step off this lap. Nope, he hucked it. Craziness.

Well....to be fair....I saw James have a couple hairy moments on different sections of the track which were easier.

So.....many guys complain that the jumps are getting to big and dangerous , bikes are to fast ect.....and you want to build bigger jumps to compliment one particular rider? James is an awesome rider even "Without" those type of big jumps.

What would you be thinking if he was the one that went down on that thing? It wouldn't of been pretty and I would think your opinion may differ from what it is now.

I am actually going to disagree with the OP. I think sections this technical and dangerous have been Stewart's achilles heel. I am trying to remember specific races, but Stewart doing jumps nobody else is doing (like he was at MEC) and him totally wadding it jumping things he really didn't have to.

I think RV was fine jumping it but he was outside of his comfort zone. Jumping it took full concentration and focus. Last lap when he zipped past Joker Lane he immediately realized what he did, and that was the distraction that caused him to rag doll on the quad.

Daytona 2011? He jumped the wall which nobody else jumped, but didn't wreck on it. He wrecked on a dumb double when he accidentally wheelied over the takeoff

nope. he did the wall jump just fine...

he ate shit on a basic jump. so that doesn't apply unless he ate shit during the wall jump attempt.

and after he got knocked the fuck out, he went back and still did the wall jump LOL

I can't recall him wadding it on any obstacle he was doing that others weren't. Not saying it's never happened, but it isn't something that happens frequently if at all.

RV is not afraid to call James' bluff. I remember a quad at on of the CA rounds in 2012 that James was doing. Villo tried it, cased the crap out of it and never did it again. He went for it though. He always seems to if that's what it takes to win.

I think he came up short because he didn't have the proper drive because he was thinking "Did I miss that Dam Joker Lane?"

Stewart still made it and he was thinking "Did he miss that damn joker lane?"
