As an avid AMA watcher and as a Belgian, I can't see Belgium beating the US. Desalle rode some nationals this year and he couldn't get even close to Dungey or Barcia! The race is now in Germany and that should give Desalle a slight advantage so he might beat Barcia, but Dungey is a bridge too far in my opinion. De Dycker can perform a one-in-a-life-time type of ride but otherwise he won't beat Dungey or Barcia and I don't think Jeremy will beat Eli.

The last two years, Baggett was picked instead of Tomac (which was a mistake in my opinion) and he really let the team down. I think Tomac has a greater chance to perform a "Villopoto" instead of a "Baggett" type of ride.

People are also saying that Tomac is a bad starter, but if you were watching the last 4 races then you could see he got great starts in the end. If they were some "variables" for US (really crappy starts, bike problems, ...) then it's possible, otherwise not.

However, saying team Belgium won't be on the podium is just stupid. So who ever didn't picked Belgium on the rostrum, you're a **** Silly

I really think Dean Ferris will be the surprise in the 250 class.

He starts well, has been riding great recently and Teutschenthal is his kind of track. He could play a big part for Australia this year.

1. USA
2. Belgium
3. Australia
4. Great Britain
5. Germany
6. France
7. Italy

Shocker.
Well they did last year and almost in 2011 , remember the blown tire incident? Without villopoto i dont think USA is that dominant.

Gotta agree with you, Ferris is he has a good day will be running with MX1 guys and I also think Waters might be a top five guy in his class. Metcalfe is also riding well. Come on Aussies!!!!!

The track is tight and really hardpack when its time for the races. It gets super diffcult to pass riders. A bad start can ruin it for every nation and open the doors for others....Dungey, Tomac and Barcia might be fast, but if they come around 20th place first lap, it will be very tough getting back to the front.

Ferris won GP's this year, Metty has won ama races and toped 5 his ama debut this season and Waters came 2nd to Matt Moss in Australia. This Team will REALLY push it.

Was Matt unavailable for selection, or did they just decide to go with Waters? I've been away a bit for work this year and haven't followed the series as close as I would have liked. I know Waters won the first few rounds....did he get injured mid season or did Matt just keep improving all year and close the gap?

Yeh, spot on, our sx series runs the same time as MXoN and he needs to earn enough doing that to pay bills.

I think it's really hard to call this race given the screwy stuff that seems to happen to one of more potentially winning teams each year. I'd love to see each of the three motos start with 3-4 competitive teams having their guys in the top ten, or at least top 15 coming clean out of the first turn. Any team that can get at least 4 top ten finishes is in pretty good shape if the fifth is no worse than in the 10-20 range. Five top tens is golden.

Totally agree, I can't see America getting beaten, all three riders will be inside the top three in each class, possible winning their class or finishing second. While I think Desalle and De Dycker have the possability to run with Dungey and Barcia, Van Horebeek will need the ride of his life to run with Tomac. Only way I see Belgium winning is if Tomac gets a bad start (as he seems to do a lot) and finds the euro conditions difficult.

With a little luck look for Team Australia to be on the podium and Todd Waters to shock the World!!!!!
I agree (and not cause I'm American either/lol), Tomac is on a roll, and I think Dungey is going to have a chip on his shoulder and have something to prove. I can see that carrying over to 2014 SX/MX series for Dungey. Back to MXdN...We have a solid team, but as mentioned, Belgium will be strong and Germany could be a spoiler too. Can't count them out either...Wish Reed was racing, that'd give Australia a strong team too...they have some really great riders down under but don't get the attention they deserve Sad

I predict speculation and arguing before, during, and after the race

Dennis Ullrich won the German Masters title today (pretty incredible final, he was tied in points with seb pourcel going into the last moto and won it just in front of Pourcel)
that could give him a good push for next weekend so maybe Germany does have a shot at the Podium (if theyre as consistant as last year) - I can see him getting 2 holeshots (or at least way up front) if he's confident

Team USA will be very hard to beat. I'm hoping for an Australian podium but I'm not sure that it's going to happen. Belgium have to be in with a shot for the overall.

I believe Ullrich can definately pull together a good moto.
He is pretty consistant, not many crashes and an incredible starter (he won like 80% of the starts in ADAC Masters this years against guys like Nagl Pourcel Aranda, even this weekend from Gatepick 16).
Maybe not a top 10 like Schiffer last year (I guess noone expects that) but maybe top15 would be good
Never under-estimate Ullrich !!!

No way Germany could finish this year's race on the podium... Only Roczen is on top form and speed in the team.

I don't think you can ever say no way for this event. Two bad motos kills even the best team's chances.

For sure, but after Pourcels mousse incident in 11, and things like RC's throttle cable in 99, it's easy to imagine any ridiculous thing happening. The fifth moto score, the last keeper, is the hinge.

Nagl is still fast and since the motos are "only" 30mins he should be able to at least race the first moto with 100%.
And its not like Ullrich is nobody, he beat guys like Pourcel, Gajser, Rauchenecker, Aranda etc in ADAC regularly.
Podium wont be easy but far from impossible... imo - and dont forget the fact that the race is held in Germany, Roczen is even a Member of the MSC Teutschenthal so its pretty much his home track and he will probably (hopefully) again be like 5-6 spots ahead of any other MX2 rider (well maybe not Tomac^^) which will give us a pretty good advantage

I Have to agree with mx addict, nagl has been off all year and ullrich dont see a top 10. Roczen all he can do is win some motos and shine personally.

How do you guys think Team Israel will do?
Think they will beat a few countries in the B Main maybe?

I guess this was their first legally sanctioned race.
Pretty cool.

I would think so Eddy. I have seen quite a few different riders over the years on other B teams with a lot less speed and skill.
