So you make a big stink about him grabbing your broken broom that you left at the gate. Are you that big of a puss not to ask for it back? Hey what ever makes you feel better man. Wow

Big puss for trying to keep his son in mind while at the track? The other dude is the one who walked off with something that didnt belong to him. One person did the right thing here, one didnt, its not that complicated .

CamP is right, lots of folks share a community broom at the gate, but you dont haul off with it like a petty thief.
Nobody is saying to go over and fight the guy. Like a few others have said why not walk up and ask for it back? Its yours ask for it back. What is so hard about that? You said it wasn't his and he walked off with it, i agree he should of left it where he found it, BUT he didn't, so go tell him it yours. Nice example set for the kid, letting someone take your property without even asking for it back.

From what Ive seen of 21st Century pit-dads, that most likely wouldve ended up a pissing match or worse.

The OP did the right thing, honored his kids request, and the day wasnt ruined because some people have zero scruples.

The guy probably thought somebody had discarded the broom and left it there. He took it because he thought he could put it to use...or maybe he was going to throw it away properly...did you ever think about that?

If you were worried about face to face confrontation, you could always find the brother and ask to borrow his headset to tell the Dad to just leave the broom back at the dog box and we will pretend like none of this ever happened.

Having read this, I now feel that I owe someone an apology. At Millville 2012, I was in a urinal on the back side of the track by the double dropping a massive deuce when I looked over and saw a beer sitting there on the toilet paper dispenser. It was half empty and warm but I decided to finish it off while I was in there. I knew I didn't bring it but I still took it. I apologize if one of my Vital brothers strategically left it there for later on in the day when they were going to unleash hell in that urinal. Please let me know if this was your beer and I'll replace it.

My sincerest apologies,
David R

I don't see him holding any broom.

I'm gonna need a lot more evidence before I go convicting this guy of anything on a public forum.

If someone couldn't simply and nicely ask someone for their borken broom back face to face, without the prospect of a fight breaking out over it - there are bigger issues going on here than a lost or stolen broken broom. Why would a kid think his father would get in a fight over a broom? Unless there was this one other time when...

Listen.. I am not mad at the guy. My son and I thought it was funny more then anything.... We were more amazed that it happened the way it did then anything. We were not mad and wanted to fight or have a track side argument over a broken broom. We all have flaws, his might be picking things up he can use that he does not own, mine might be calling ppl out on public forums... whatever, does not make him nor me the worse guy at the track. Nonetheless, I found his actions as comic relief and thought some of you might as well. The pettiness of it..

Now on a more serious note: Broom theft is a gateway crime, one of his friends might want to hold an intervention before this gets any worse!

That's disgusting anybody would ever steal a "borken" broom ... I'd never touch one of those knowing the place that thing's been.

his father pointed out something that someone did wrong to the guy and the other guy flew off the handle... becasue none of us actually know each other from Adams house cat and do not know how the other person will respond when called out in person in front of about 100 other people...

Yes, I understand what you are saying, your right, it could have gotten bad..... over a broom....

Shit, what's really sad is this has turned into the fuckin debate that it has. JoJo, I guess THAT will teach you teach you to post something on Vital. Having said that, perhaps I could suggest you find the other half of the broom handle, as well as that guy, and store it in the appropriate location? Silly Evil That'll learn him. I love amateur mx. The story lines are just so damn fulfilling. Pro mx is definitely lacking in this category, save the occasional lazergate.

I advise you tell little timmy buttwhip to handle this on the track. johnny crossup better watch his back

Typical vital tough guy to put someone on blast but not say anything to the person. Post a pic and talk shit. Really!?! Are you a fucking adult? If you approached him in a civil manner and asked about it, I'm sure he would've given you the broom back. I had a similar situation at the Budds regional this yr when I found a nice, personalized umbrella next to mechanics area. All the racing was done for the day and there was no one around so I took it back to my pits. We were selling snow balls, so I figured someone would be by that was a part of the "team" and give it back to the owner. Maybe he thought it was someone's that he knows. Now you won't know what is really true because you jumped to conclusions and put him on blast. Douche move bro!

You shouldn't F'ing take it....

This guy stole my broom I took to the starting gate to clean the concrete starting pad. It was a broken broom, the pole broke from it and I used it as a whisk broom. After cleaning the pad, I placed the broom next to the dog box while I watched my son race only to later find my broom gone. His son raced our class. I wondered where it went until we lined up next to him in our last moto and saw this guy using our broom... A Loretta's kid. His dad had headphones on and a backpack (Where he placed MY broom after cleaning the pad for his son). Nice new bike and new gear, but he had to take someone else's broom?

Shocked I seen a broken broom on EBay for sale from your area!Angry Angry

You need to customize your new broom with your son's Number and name on it and it won't ever happen again.
