Hmmm. Glen Helen is a nice track. But Bud and Davey are both strong willed. Bud has the track but Davey has the program. Davey wins this no doubt. I seriously doubt Glen Helen will be back. It's like one guy said, "Its business." Davey's business, not Bud's, or anyone else's. Davey put in the work for it, and he can do whatever he wants with it.

Why didn't they ever make Mammoth a national track? Talk about an awesome track.

You keep hearing about what the fans and riders want. Since when has this sport been about what the fans and riders want? LMAO

Maybe I'm playing devil's advocate a little. It should be about the fans and riders, but it isn't by a long shot. If it was based on the fan turnout then we would have a whole different Nat schedule, but its obviously not.

The fans really lost out when Glen Helen was removed off the schedule. That is an awesome track to watch.

I understand trying to be positive about new tracks, but when someone tries to tell me that Elsinore is as good as this and has better "facilities"... well, LMAO! Wink

Just looking at those Glen Helen picts gets the heart rate going! If by some miracle they work it out and put THE So. Cal National track back on the circuit; I wonder what Tomac will think of it? Cool

Glen Helen was cool but most all the riders hated it and claimed it was to dangerous also. It had no shade or green grass and the last couple nationals there had marginal attendance. It was basically what some see around here as a giant super cross track but with hills. I guess giant man made jumps are ok as long as the track has a hill? It is also windy and in the middle of desert like landscape. Seems like the faults many around here complain about are exactly the same issues gh had.

You're high bro.. although I agree, people will whine no matter what. Watch a minute or two of bd's vids and tell me it's the same as MMP or elsinore.

Didn't say it was the same, but a lot of things people are saying make mmp bad were also true of glen Helen. I watched many nationals there and the last usgp.

Some of us got TORCHED a week ago when we spoke our minds about MMP... some riders thought Miller was shit too.

Now we have Mitch saying the same things but will anything change? Hell no. We'll probably get more generic outdoor supercross tracks next year.. on top of the elimination of the only sand course on the circuit.

The promoters don't get a dime from the TV package because it actually doesn't make a nickel. Their profits come from actual attendance, so yes, fans showing up is the only source of profit for the NPG, outside of the small amount they get from local sponsorships.

I've watched the banter go back and forth about these new tracks loosing what MX is all about and I thought those people need to relax and except that things change and enjoy what we have. I'm ok with implementing some of these new tracks but when I hear the name Glen Helen, I think of it as the Mecca of Motocross and it's got to be somewhere in the schedule. There has to be some change but you also have to honor and hold on to some of the roots of your heritage that is Motocross. .

Very. Only 1 way in, a Forest Service dirt road. Spectators would probably have to be shuttled in. I think the pits would be very crowded. The community could easily handle it. There are lots of rooms available. Limited air travel, I think maybe a commuter type airline into Mammoth. It would be very scenic.
