If ya'll can find KTM's off-road sales numbers for the U.S. market, then compare those to the Japanese brands which are listed on the MIC website.

I don't know who's vision it is inside KTM to continue to make the 2 strokes in all shapes and sizes, and then now start building an army of teams and riders over here much like abroad. But they are definitely on the right track for a hostile take over if the Japs keep playing to the status quo.

And good for them. They will raise the bar and the other 4 will have to rise to the occasion or loose market share big time. It all translates into a better bike for us, and more competitive pricing as they all vie for sales.

On a local level, Honda's are expensive as hell compared to the other brands. They are very dependable though. Shit, for the first time in I think forever, I could buy a new 450 KTM this year for cheaper than a Honda. So I went with a Kawasaki again Silly

The only thing I could see that they need to add would be mild mannered air cooled 4-strokes, 80cc-400cc, for the average Joe Q. Trailrider. Something similiar to the Honda XRs.

Bottom line in the U.S. off-road market: KTM is growing its share of a shrinking market- a market that is pretty small (yet still significant) in a global sense.
the offroad market has nearly halfed since 2008 worldwide, and although some slight gains are now coming though its hardly the boom time it was 5 years ago, KTM have had big gains for sure, and I am pretty sure they have overtaken BMW as the biggest European motorcycle maker,

The Japanese brands still make most of there profits out of the ATV/SxS and road bike sales,
