So Rockstar will trade in the Suzuki's for KTM's

And to be a good race machine, there better be some damn good quality..

A factory suzuki isn't in this equation. Nice try, though.
I think Davi's Zook is better suited to him than the KTM will be. I also think the Suzuki has a better platform for SX than the KTM. Of course, I think anyone could jump on the Suzuki and do good.

I'm not an mx racer. Never have been and more than likely never will be, so I really can't agree nor disagree with your opinion. With that said, I've ridden dirt bikes most of my long life and have owned bikes from 4 of the 5 manufacturers discussed here. Out of curiosity, why do you believe that both the yellow bike and the green bike, not to mention red and blue are better race machines than the orange machine?

I'm not trying to start an argument, I'm just trying to get a feel for why you feel this way and why you feel most every professional will be better off on these machines as opposed to the KTM's.

back in 2011 i would have agreed but ktm have really put some work into the current 450 , while suzuki has become very stagnant in recent years albeit stagnant with a good bike

No, but this would be the biggest shock to me since the moment I started following the sport. Red Bull and KTM go back 20-something years and probably have the strongest ties in all of pro motocross. But I know you know this as well so you have me a little worried.

I'd like to see DM on this factory ride next year.

Biggest Shock? Who cares! It's another team supporting the brand! What don't you guys get?! This is a GOOD thing.

And burn1986, you can't Argue with "I think," therefore I do not give a shit what you have to say. Come at me with some valid arguments and not opinions as to why a factory KTM isn't as good as a "rockstar racing(in quotations in case you didn't notice suzuki wasn't helping rockstar)" bike? Until then, I don't care and still hold my point. Shit on

Mathis is stepping in it: and, answering it.

So, "if" Rockstar goes to KTM? W T F does Suzuki have in the 250s?

I'm wondering if "someone-else" is going to fly the flag for Suzuki?

RCH "Lites"...?

I hope Suzuki can remain competative. IMO, it is good for mx and everyone involved if all manufacturers stay competative. With that said, it will take some adjustment, but DM will do fine on a KTM. The orange doesn't seem to have hindered Dungey at all. He is still one of the top two at the moment.

That bike that has propelled him to the #2 position this year was basically made for him, created with Dungey in mind...so it's pretty much the most personalized bike on the track.

I'm not sure I follow your intent and don't mean to put words in your mouth. I assume you're saying that the other top sponsored riders have bikes that are more stock and therefore not modified as heavily. That may or may not be true imo. I think the only people that can adequately answer that would be the teams of shops that modify these bikes. As in most sports, winning comes down more to the athlete than the minute differences of the equipment. IMO, if every rider were on identical bikes of whichever brand we choose, the standings would still be very similar to what thay are currently.
You said in your post that "DM will do fine on a KTM. The orange doesn't seem to have hindered Dungey at all. He is still one of the top two at the moment."

My response was based on the "no shit" factor. The reason Dungey is so comfy on the KTM 450 is that the bike was basically built for him, by the factory...as the bike wasn't in the KTM lineup of machines until RD came on board via DeCoster, who promised Ryan that he would have a new bike if he signed. DeCoster molded the new 450 around his star rider, so there is no wonder that it absolutely works for Dungey. How could it "hinder" him? Hell, it was custom built from the ground up FOR HIM. Would that same bike work as well for any other rider...that remains to be seen. Just because a bike is a "factory" bike, it doesn't mean a rider will bond with the bike or ever get to a point of feeling comfortable on it.

Personally speaking, I don't believe virtually the same bike under the BTO tent works as well for Andrew Short for example, as his Honda 450 did...even the Honda 450 that he pieced together after Team Brooks/McGrath folded. He doesn't look nearly as smooth or comfortable on the KTM.

So...who's to say that the factory KTM will work for DM as well as his non-factory Rockstar Suzuki? He has several times said it's the best bike he's ever ridden and he really likes it a lot. Time will tell.

KTM did not build the bike specifically for Dungey. The new fuel injected 450 was in development in Europe for quite some time before Dungey signed with KTM. They did rush it into limited production so that Dungey could race it in 2012 SX instead of the standard carbureted 2012 450 model.

I don't see that happen either since RC has a solid relationship with monster.
Maybe they will just run all blacked out KTM's with rockstar logos. Just like the black RMZ's they are running right now.

Didn't Roger D. and Suzuki build that current 450 around dungey's liking? It fits Davi well. So maybe a KTM that was built around Dungey also works well for DM. I hope so anyway. DM looked so good last year.

No Roger built that bike to work. Just as he did with Suzuki's. And Honda's before that. Look at the timeline and look at the effectiveness of the bikes that parallel with where roger worked. Giving him a year or two to turn things around of course. cough cough 96-98 RM's cough cough.

Can't forget what Evert's and co are doing in Europe as well. Having a guy like Everts testing and advising on the team with all his resent riding experience is invaluable. And the Pit Bull. And all the rest.
