Marc proved 1 thing: you only have two great riders, JS & RV, and the can be beaten. And De Reuver is not a regular winner in the GP's, there are even fasters guys... Hamblin is cuurently running sixth, most races he couldn't even qualify in the GP's....

@ VET954: I hope he doesn't go back to the USA ever. The only thing he gets is alot of bullshit...
2 great riders? Seems to me you have to place in both motos, not just one. Good ride in the 1st moto, but there are several riders that can put 2 motos together and top Marc. It's not being mean, but finishing good in one moto is no reason to go running through the streets, flipping over cars and lighting trash can on fire. It looks like he has the same problem in his home series, putting 2 motos together.

He came over from Europe just to race 1 national for fun. Then he is second in practice behind JS, gets 3rd after a not so good start in the first race and all he gets is bullshit, even from the commentators, what a bunch of bad losers you guys are.

For an example, look at race two, Dowd 5th, Hamblin 6th WOW, your level is really high.

Like I siad, I hope he doesn't go back to the US ever, het diserves much more.

Exactly!!!! In the second moto with a large handful our top guys injured and our field depleted a 43 year old vet and Hamblin were going faster than your guy who just almost went 1-1 a few weeks ago in the GPs. How again doest that prove that other than two people the Euros are faster?

Don't get me wrong, I not saying the Euros are slow, just that you aren't giving the Americans half the credit they deserve. Why do you and mcread, Geoff and the others always make such a big deal about who is faster? I think we proved in America today from the way the media and fans supported Marc they we do love the GP guys and don't bash without being provoked first.

Congrats Marc. Nothing wrong with a top 10. I am glad you came over here and gave it a go. You do not know how close I was to making the 1000 mile ride to see you ride.

I agree, but if we always agreed what would be the point of bench racing?

Did James really say "we sent them home". And was he talking about just de Reuver or the whole field.

Marc did well today and should be proud.

Marc proved he has the speed to run up toward the front.

However it looks like the heat and humidity played a major roll in todays race.

I hope he does come back and race here, but before that i hope he comes back and trains with James, that would be great.

THE GUY IS ONE OF THE BEST MX RACERS IN THE WORLD -and he proved that today!
Yep you are correct, i think the heat and humidity would of played a big part of his second moto, good on him for doing it but, shows the speed between the ama and fim is not any different.

I'm laughing my ass off....

I can remember a few people from the GPs who came to America and whooped our best riders.

Give credit when due:

3rd in Moto is bad ass! Marc congrats

Lets not forget JMB, Ron Ron, Tortelli, Pichon, Albee, Zulu Warrior, and Chad Reed who all came over and beat our best riders.

STEWART is on another planet. The GP regulars are competitive with most of the national riders.

Give credit when its due.

You cant come over and say you will beat everyone but James then not do it.

Your going to take alot of flack if you don't do what you say, its pressure that isn't needed.

Come over and have fun, race hard and learn. Talking crap only fuels the internet forums...lol

Good first moto but you have to be able to back it up. James has backed it up all year but many of our top guys haven't.

The shorter 30 minute sprint motos are more physically demanding than the paced 45 minute stuff. Today is just further proof of that.

Not really, it's just what you train for, but i don't think it was as much his fitness as it was not being used to the climate.

Funny thing is, that is how all the races outside of maybe one or two are in the United States. Hot as hell and humid!! IMagine if this race was at one of the Texas, or California rounds!!

Wait, so a the "World Championshio" doesn't even go anywhere hot or humid? I have a hard time believing that. If that is the case it isn't much of a world championship is it!

Dude, if you can't complete the second moto in moderate heat/humidity your conditioning is lacking. It was not overly hot or overly humid today. Just another normal sumer day in America. The track was smooth compared to what your sand tracks are and there are no jumps. The perfect Euro track.

Drop that 45 minute manly man shit. It does not hold water. Proven once again today.
8/24/2008 4:16pm
With the attitudes on this board, it's no wonder the Europeans can't stand the Americans. IMO, Europe is what MX is about. Long motos, races in different countries, trick bikes, and cool tracks. I watch US mx because it's easy to find, but I definitely prefer the Euro version better. Think Nascar vs. F1.

I thought he did great, first moto was rocking, why did he pull off?It added some excitement first moto. Not sure what the Euro's are tripping about, US riders don't get cut any slack in here, why should Euro riders?

Hey shithead, When it comes to Gps i cheer for two guys, marc deruver and josh coppins which is why when people were bagging on him on here I spoke up about how good he is. when people bad mouth the gps i tell them about why we should respect it as much as our own series. I do that for one reason. RESPECT. I respect the gps and all the riders for obviouse reasons. Maybe you should show some respect for JOHN DOWD. He didnt go bust his 43 yearold ass all weekend so you can use him as a example about our competition being slow. Truth is that if you had ANY idea what you were talking about John dowd would be the last guy you use for an example. After all, Everybody knows that dowdy is faster at the wick when the track is at its worst. aka the second moto

I liked your views until I read that. Now your no better than all the other half witted couch racers on here. Including the ones bagging calimero.

While you are certainly correct on some of the neat GP items, your Nascar vs F1 comparison really needs to be re-thought. That is, unless you think that an overweight 800hp car with skinny tires could beat the current pinnacle of auto racing around a track.
