Phil Nicoletti:

"You and Zach Osborne are buddies. How’d you meet Zach?

I met Zach in 1999 at Frozen Ocean, it’s a track in upstate New York. We were there for a regional. And he showed up in his big old fancy trailer.

Because he’s a rockstar…

Yeah. My 65, me and my old man are sleeping in our pickup truck. And Zach and I went out there and we battled for six motos. Ever since then we became kind of friends. He was always kind of like a nervous kid, so he’s always a little bit standoffish. And I didn’t even know because he never really did go to the races with his dad, it was just his mechanic Al Albiker. But I thought Al was his dad."

We raced Frozen Ocean for a regional back in 1989 or 1990. What a great track! There was a section at the time where you came out of a corner and hit a small kicker before a nice sized triple (for an 80). Myself and a couple of other guys were hitting that kicker and wheel tapping off the larger jump then finishing the triple. I remember some local guys coming by our pit and telling us they hadn't seen anyone do that before. Such a cool place and one of my favorite tracks I ever got to race. Glad to see it's still going strong.

I want to quit my job right now to head home and race at Frozen. Best dirt and track prep I've seen.

Haven’t been in a few years but top notch facility and great dirt. Full sprinkler system and I bet it will be ripped deep!

I'll throw in a vote for Frozen Ocean as well. I heard about the place for years before I ever attended a race there. Awesome dirt, great layout, and a cool location (Finger Lakes area is cool). Been there a few times and the track was always awesome, and to top it off, the track owners are simply great folks!

Great Track! I had a little fun there at the first SX of the season, it looked like a great track to ride!

I wish it were a whole practice day Saturday, it's a hell of a drive for me, it would be nice to make a whole weekend out of it.

Weather looks great, they've done a bunch of extra track prep.

Listen to Jeff, he knows what he is talking about...

anybody got a pic of Chris Coleman laying it flat over the big tabletop? He was unstoppable on his RM250 in the early 90's at frozen and had a killer style

The promoters were really cool. They would let us and other riders and mechanics stay at their house after the Sat nite SXs.
Davis won a Dash for Cash race in '99 there start to finish....whole 4 lapper. Carpenter went bonzai on last 2 turns, but didn't get past Scott.
That jump in '92 photo looks like the same one only Carpenter would huck the entire jump distance on his KX250 Sun MX.
Fun times.
