Sometimes I don't know if most you guys are even capable of enjoying Anything-Moto...at all.

Utah is a very OHV-friendly state (remember the videos of former Governor John Huntsman trail riding?) - and ultimately a very good choice for an event like this. As I said, I will always root for the Nationals to be successful, wherever they're held.

The dust roost is cool, but for some reason, I just had a hard time imagining a full gate of riders out there. As Marc Peters said the top coats not on yet, so I'm sure they'll bring in some good stuff for the race.

I believe that the Nationals are in more than capable hands and I trust the powers that be to try some new ideas. Again, I hope the event is a success
Lots of us Idahoans will make the 6 hour drive down to watch the Utah National. We have a lot of moto heads here. Some of the past champions who reside in Idaho are Bob Hannah, Damon Bradshaw just to name a few. Rekluse, Scott, Acerbis, WPS and Smith have their corporate offices in Idaho. Not everything is in Ca. Oh ya, you can plate a 2 stroke here and Utah.

Fuck dude, I think its gonna be sick once its prepped. Wide lanes, Way better than Muddy Creek. Brings a little variety.. Some people need to chill, I have a feeling its gonna be kick ass.

Contrary to popular belief, this track was built on completely natural terrain.

Unfortunately, the track builders then moved it here, to Earth.
That was good! haha...

I actually think it's a cool idea, though i'd take Hi Point or more natural tracks any day, I can see why they want tracks at places like this...

What bums me out tho, is whilst that track looks cool to ride, I really don't think the racers are ever that stoked about going warp 10 on a track like that, just doesn't have good racing.

RV said the same about Colorado's freestyle jump...

Pala and Elsinore ended up being follow the leader over the massive stuff, and the long flowly corners just make it road race style...

MX needs tight 180s and technical stuff too...

how about they just put red bud in the schedule twice....paybacks for 3 Anaheims and RED BUD is the king of motocross tracks.
Bloody good idea.

There is no way that i am the only one that saw that video months ago

By the time it's race day that place will be sick imo, yes it's not natural Moto but I think we all know it's gonna be a hell of a show in that place. What a backdrop to race in, great grandstands, weather etc. Think of the Monster girls Cool

I feel in it's current state it looks more GP than AMA - what if GL is secretly parading as DC and this is the future of your series moowhahahahaa Woohoo

I don't think much of the track judging by that vid. To me the Nationals (along with the GPs) will always be better on the more traditional style circuits - preferably with some hills and a bit of character. Losing Southwick is a huge blow. Still, I'm sure they can work some magic between now and the actual race to improve things.

EXCELLENT comment. Perhaps you could call anyone that questions that track a "homo". That's the usual next step in jr. high school......

My favorite parts of this track are the variety of naturally shaded areas (aka trees), the plush grass lining the track, and the natural terrain..all things that make a motocross track a motocross track...maybe I am old school.

And bring back the race at Road Atlanta while we're at it! There's your southeast national!

(yes... they used to run a pro motocross at Road Atlanta. 1972, 73, 81, and 82)

I'm sorry, but if some of you guys are comparing this and other tracks like it to SX you really don't have the slightest concept of just how difficult SX really is.

Yea it's not your daddy's track put together on a hillside in the middle of freaking nowhere.. but at least give it a damn chance.

The track looks fun to ride, but not to race. I hope that whoever is responsible for "improving" motocross doesn't keep "improving' it until we have 0 original tracks left.

Maybe its because I get to ride bad ass tracks with arguably some of the best sandy loam dirt in the country, and I must be spoiled.
BUT,
That is easily the shittiest, outdoor track I've seen to date, and I am speechless to know that is going to be used as an outdoor National Track??????
Tracks in the desert southwest must suck. How many tires do you go through in a day of riding?
Wow!!!!
Are you kidding???

IMO the Daytona SX is closer to an outdoor MX track than what was shown in that video.
Hoepfully it will be different/better by race time.

Dust Park raceway is what I will call it. I say this race will probably be a disaster because I have been to a track similar to it a while back, basically they got through 6 moto's and shut down for an hour so the dust can settled. Needless to say but they have never held another race there, shut down the motocross track and turned it into a redneck park.

Everyone used to love Kenworthy's in Ohio. That track was 80% man made. This place looks like it has a LOT of dirt thrown at it. Plus, Utah is the new black it seems with the hour drive between snow caps and moto tracks.

Top soil, some sod and HD water trucks and the place will look completely different, for the better.

I think i'm going to fly out and give it a look for sure.

I would like to see that track added to the SX schedule as I hate the look and short lap of most SX tracks. Like the look of the triple gaps being filled in, aka step ups. Big, fast, smooth, safe even and probably minute and a half lap times.

Outdoor Motocross.....not so much.

you can definitely tell the age of most of the people here, do you guys ride? race? all the tracks in the past 10 years are more like this utah track, the younger guys want this type of track, tracks like redbud and unidilla are of the old school genre, mx is evolving, either get involved or be left behind.

"....MX is evolving...."

MX is turning into outdoor SX.

Fine by me to pull the teeth out of the sport but call it what it is and it's not MX. Expect some mockery for those that know what MX was.

The way the tracks are being prepped now it looks more like slot car racing anyway and it suck IMO.

Again, as others have posted, the track shown in the video isn't finished. There will be additional topsoil laid down, they're just riding on the base. This video was made the week of the SLC supercross back in April. It's not going to be a dust bowl.

Give it some more time, dirt, and water and I think it could turn out pretty cool. I don't get why people can't withhold their judgement until after the damn race.
