So.....as far as beginners all the way up to some extremely fast local Pro guys......they seem to really dig the bike(10'-13') The very top .00001% of the fastest riders on the planet ( like 4 - 5 guys ) say they couldn't get the bike dialed. Everyone else....really got along with it.

AND......this is the 2014 genius! It isn't the same bike James was riding. So you must lump yourself in with all the "know it all" crowd and judge the bike before it's even been ridden? Fucking classic.

Some of you guys read shit on the internet and just regurgitate what you've read. With not 1 second of experience behind what you type. And FWIW......I've pretty much ridden them all.

When the YZ400 came out, it had everything the 2-stroke had, just a 4-stroke motor. It looked and was styled like all the other bikes, but performed better. Yamaha's gamble paid off. It was the right time and everyone was ready for the 4-stroke (of course no one expected it to take off like it did). The current bike has been a gamble that has not paid off, nearly as well as it did for the YZ400. Plus the timing is worse economically.

I put a 50-tooth sprocket on mine and it really helped. 2013 YZ450 sprocket fit just fine.

you have a 2014? if so do the rims off a '13 fit? im buying a '14 250F and i have a set of A60's from my 2012. id hate to have to buy a new set.

The only thing I don't like about the new Yamaha's are the bulky shrouds. I normally like Bryar's designs, but on this one I think he should do something that will make the shrouds appear slimmer. I know that's a lot to ask because they act as the intake scoops, but he has a good eye for design and can figure out how to make it work.

Very curious how the bike turns out in further testing. I was all puke to start with, but part of me is confused about this bike. If the bike is all tits in test, start appearing in the Pro-class like seen with red, I will have my emotions all open.

I should salute all efforts from manufactures in motocross, and get over the sand in my vagina, because "they" killed two stroke thing... Grinning

I guess we will see if this turns out to a prince or just another blue frog.

It was the right time and everyone was ready for the 4-stroke (of course no one expected it to take off like it did). Really? Only difference was the motor? The 98s have about as much in common as the 13s do.

Great fix BDB!! Those black rims and subframe make that thing look a ton better. I'll wait until next year , and after it has a season on it......but could definitely see myself back on a Yamaha. I think she's a sweet looking bike.

The most noticeable change is how much weight has been dropped. Must feel lite and more maneuverable, oh yeah and the motorcycle looks nice as well.

Who's rig is that behind Ping? Is that the Kranyak rig? Did Yamaha keep an 18-wheeler around all these years despite not having a factory team? Is this a sign of what might come next year (a factory team?). Inquiring minds want to know.
