I ride MX only so I run a DID ERT chain since it rolls more freely verses an O-ring chain.

I also hate changing tires. I have a local shop that only charges $12 to put on a new tire. Its so worth it.

I laughed so hard reading this one because it really is short, but conveys the horror of filters.

I hate the screws for the seats on suzuki's because they are absoutely junk and despite a gentle touch sure to strip out in no time. and for all of the Maxxis tire changer haters I have ridden on maxxis for the past years and believe them to be just as easy to change as other tires. Fun no, but I would rather change a tire than do a filter or an oil change on a 4 stroke with 2 filters on them. Grips too, fucking grip glue is some evil shit.

I would change tires all day long for 12 bucks a piece . If they are off the bike I can do front and rear in 10 minutes. That's 144 bucks an hr. With a tire machine I can do them in 5 minutes.

Air filters. My shop lets me use their tire machine so thats not to bad. Although I tried a Maxxis once and the tire machine wouldn't get it on so I had to use tire irons. Great tire though.

I have been changing tires at the tracks for years for $10 each. It's not as bad as most people think with a tire stand, proper spoons and correct technique. I have made good money at alot of races like the LL qualifiers.

My least favorite is the hassle of carb removal on the 4 strokes.

Having to take a bike half apart to make a jetting change is a PITA. I still hate tires you would get my money $10 is worth it.

Additionally I really hate aligning my front end after I wad it up. Loosening the T-clamps, pinch bolts on the axle, busting out the torque wrench untwisting and bouncing on the forks grr... Oh and cleaning out the Airbox those air boxes might have holes big enough for the japanese to fit their hands in, but my american hands do not fit in there and the thing the filter mounts to is sometimes sharp enough to make a slice

Used to HATE cleaning filters. Now I just run Ready filters. I can get 2-3 rides on them no problem. Just tape up the airbox vents when washing. Not a problem anymore.

I used to HATE changing tires, but the local shop charges $12 all day long to mount a tire(even if you didn't buy from them). I will gladly pay someone to change the tire; someone with the proper tools and equipment.

What I still do and HATE is greasing the rear linkage. Tedious work.. Everything else is good times in the garage, but rear suspension maintenance sucks so bad.

None of it is bad considering how much fun I have when I ride. It's all worth it.

Yeah tires are cake with a stand, spoons, and technique.

I absolutely despise pulling the carb apart, taking out all the jets, cleaning, then reassembling. It's not hard, just time consuming, and a pain to rewire the linkage with the O-ring mod from thumper talk.

I HATE CLEANING FILTERS.

I work on bikes almost every night at home. Suspension, tires, top ends, bottom ends, carbs whatever and I hate doing filters. Second to that is probably carb work on aluminum framed four-strokes.

Did I mention, I hate doing filters?

Back when I was riding a 400EX, I drilled, tapped, and installed zerk fittings on all the linkage points, a-arms, and swingarm. Kept them full of grease, and no water could enter. Worked like a champ.

I was just wondering what part of bike maintenance or bike work do you despise the most?
Glad I'm not the only one. The "I don't Know" fairy has quite of few of my tools that I would like back.
