When Stewart wins some world championships to go along with his national titles and then goes off and podiums in MotoGP he can have the title of the most naturally gifted rider of all time.

Bayle won everything there was to win in MX (in Europe and the US) and then went road racing against the very best in the world. Hands down he's got the title.

The missing guy from this list is Ron Lechien.
Using the Bayle logic pattern, then what about Steve Wise?

McGrath #1: He started racing dirt bikes at age 14, turned pro in a handful of years, and kicked a mud-hole in the premier supercross class with a level of progression nearly a decade ahead of the competition his rookie year, via very little training and a lackluster diet (e.g., The McGrath McMuffin).

These lists always seem like they minimize the work that the "talented" riders put into their racing. While many of the guys listed might not have had the most conventional training schedules, I'd bet that they all worked their tails off much more than most imagine to make their riding look "easy".

It seemed like a lot of people used to talk about how naturally gifted Stewart was in an attempt to minimize his work ethic but they ignored all the thousands of hours he'd spent on bikes developing that "natural talent".......

Can't really decide if I should go with Bubbles or Pourcel on this one. Stewart has that amazing speed that makes your jaw drop, and he can execute rhythm sections like no one else.

Still, Pourcel is the rider that looks like he's taking it easy and just cruisin' around.....just to take the checkered flag and cross the finish line in first place. Weird.

Probably the best rider never to win a World title and someone who would have excelled at Supercross had he been inclined.
x2 remember Everts talking about him when they were team mates on RWJ , he said he was one of the most talented guy he d ever seen on a bike , pretty high comment ,coming from Everts

I think the list looks different if you make it the "fiercest competitor" or "best racer" list. Guys like DeCoster, Everts, Reed and McGrath go pretty high on both lists, but I don't think I'd put Stewart is in the top five of my best racer list, and RC would probably head it up.

And I guess "talent" is pretty imprecise, because clearly RC is incredibly talented. When people talk about talent, I start thinking about the guys who were smooth and were going really fast while looking like they were on a trail ride, the guys who made it look effortless. But guys who accomplish what RC did are no less talented.

But hey, apparently I'm a noob, so whatever.

Stewart's talent is incredible but harnessing it has been difficult at times, that guy's had some crashes,RC wasn't the most fluent and graceful, but although not the smoothest,he was crazy fast,we know the rest

Bayle,Windham,Everts,Pourcel,Ramon,MC,Reynard etc look liked they're in a different race, almost like they're cruising or practicing

Although I'm a huge RC fan, I don't think he's up in the top 5. Now, if you made a thread that was, who was the rider with the most desire to win, then I could see the top 5 being

1. RC
2. RC
3. RC
4. RC
5. RC

But, natural talent? I'd slide him off the list and put someone like Reynard in his place, or maybe even Pourcel.
