I once showed up at the "other" RC track and put a smack down on the short corse mod class, afterwards they tried telling me that I was a lap down on the leaders. Anyways, they tried everything to give their local guy the win but in the end the transponder doesn't lie. I guess they didn't like my modded slash showing up their locals with the Sc10's lol. I really could of cared less about it but being called a liar is what got me riled up. Some of those mofo's acted like it was a million dollar race. I quit going after that, same with flying planes at the local RC field, those old bastards act like FAA officials mixed with a little Nazi for good measure. Now I just go out to empty fields.

This is a good thing. Anyone wacked enough to do that to a guy as mellow as GuyB probably needs some charges pressed.

Exactly....I saw some white trash the other day get out of his car and try to start a fight with a guy because the guy had pulled an Austin Powers parking job causing him to wait. He was in the guys window yelling at him and challenging him to a fight in the middle of the Vons parking lot. The messed up part was that the trash was in the window yelling at a guy with a couple of kids in car seats in the back seat. When the trash left, the guy was left with a car full of crying kids.....Pure Douche

Just hard for me to imagine someone getting so amped up over a rc car. Assholes are everywhere these days.

Dang Steve, I was trying to take a stab at humor hoping there wasn't a chance someone at an RC track would go THAT far and that story was stretched. We talk about how small the MX community is and the RC community is a grain of salt by comparison. I don't think this guy's fellow racers will be looking at him quite the same next week (if he is allowed back?).

Lame dude, sorry to hear it.

Damn, could have lost an eye there. If he was running stock he's competing in the wrong sport.

I tend to be against lawyers getting involved, but I take my godson to RC races and I'm sure other kids attended the event so that kind of stuff needs to be stoped before people think it's ok behavior.

Hopefully GuyB does that for him.

There are seriously few things more pathetic then a grown man who feel like he needs to just up and hit another person. It's fucking sad and it's stupid people like that that end up turning other people off from things. You get tired of dealing with assholes who had lousy parents.

For the most part , people at the RC track are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. From what I have witnessed at some of the races....it attracts all sorts of people.....good and bad. BUT....the hobby has a tendency to attract non-athletic , chubby , nerdy type dudes that do nothing but thinking about RC car racing. Kind of like a geeky computer guy that doesn't do anything else.....you guys know what type of dude I'm talking about right?

Anyways......that's "their" world.....and the only world in which they think they can make a name for themselves and sometimes they freak the fuck out when things don't go their way. It's the type of person that will cause problems with outsiders because you have come into "their realm"......and some think they need to protect it.

I love driving my 1/8th scale buggies.....it's a friggin' blast! But you do have to put up with some dweeb's every once in a while. And in Steve's case.....it sounds like this dweeb took things way to far. Steve will win in court and I'll bet you money that the guy who hit him will be banned from racing / driving at that track......no matter how good he was.

Yeah, according to the owner, he's done at that track.

For a while, there were tons of riders and mechanics at the track. I've met guys from Honda, Suzuki, DVS, and FMF at the races. Before he got hurt, I'd see Frank Hoppen at the races with his kids pretty often. I've also seen Chris Blais at the races a couple times.

It's really fun when it's fun...but last week wasn't much fun. This is something that I purely do for entertainment.

I hear ya man. That's a bummer having some loon come after you like that. There are definitely different groups of people at the RC track. For us out here at the place I usually drive at , it's about 30% MX racers / riders and the other 70% RC enthusiast. We all seem to get a long fine but it's not a genuine race track. It is an awesome track.....just not a lot of room for a bunch of people.

I have a buddy Darrell up here in Oregon that has a big badass MX track on his property ( slightly bigger than Washougal ) and is built by Dave Eakin ( who builds P.I.R. ).......Darrell and a bunch of other MX guys have really gotten involved in the RC thing this past year. Darrell is now putting in a 160' wide by 80' deep 1/8th buggy / truggy track at his house. His goal is to make it a full on national track within the next year or two.....just costs quite a bit of money.

For me....the RC thing is a great release and something fun to do when i don't feel like throwing a leg over a bike. Sure is some fun times.

BTW....what track did this happen at Steve?

The "Craftsman" logo bruise in to the eyelid may be a bit of a giveaway as to what was in the towel.
