in the us the 250 class is so stacked and it is hard for some riders to find a good ride.
i think more us riders schould go to europe.

About the same as Leib, maybe a little better. This could mean languishing outside the top 10 at tracks that don't suit him or running podium speed if he gets a good start/gels with the track. I guess as a fan I will find out real fast how good he in on varying surfaces every round.

I think Jimmy will score top 10s on average with increasingly regular appearances into the top 5 as time goes on. He'll be on a good bike and a very good team. The guy has shown plenty of speed here and there in the past, and has the potential to be a really solid choice for CLS. Obviously they haven't picked him out of a hat. Avoiding injury is important of course, as well as adjusting to the tracks - some will be easier than others. Though the format is different, overall I think it'll be more forgiving as the longer practice sessions will provide more track time. With such little notice that'll be invaluable.

Haven't the GP tracks this year been a little bit more AMA like now when FIM allow faster tracks(I think=)? So might be a little bit easier to adapt than for albertson and leib for example. Good for GP guys going over to the states too

Now days it's hard to make it to the GP's unless your dad sits on a shit load of money.
Considering that you buy your spot on the gate, not qualify for it.
The GP has room for 40 riders in each class that pay their way in.

Sweden has more riders in the US nationals this year than in the GPDizzy , mostley because in US you can earn a place by riding, not buy a place on the grid.

For the fastest riders in the GPDizzy the team pays up but for the slower riders it's out of their own pockets.

So is Tonus out for six months? Wonder what happens to his ride?

There're too many fast riders out here in Europe...don't wanna underestimate JimmyD but top 10 would be nice for him IMO. We'll see...

No, he is out for a few weeks. When he's comeback CLS have 3 Rider. Decotic,Lupino and Tonus.

Latvia got a pretty hard base so that will be no struggle for Jimmy. Looking forward what he has to say about the sand tracks in Holland cause he is gonna live there!

I´m very happy for him, and totally stoked on his desition. However, American riders seem to have difficulties adapting to Europe, so unless he crashes out (like he unfortunately has in the past), I think will have a tough time in the beginning. But He´ll adapt and do well (top 10ish) or go home.

Awesome, now I will get my $130 usd worth.

I think he will do just good or bad enough for guys like mcread to use him as a benchmark to compare all other American talent to.

Jimmy just gained one place as Romain Febvre hurt his fibula today practicing in Genk. He didn't fall, only stucked his foot under the footpeg. Leg isn't broken simply cracked.

"It is impossible to predict a date for Arnaud's return to racing"..... from the PR

And I've heard that Finland is decently sandy, definitely wouldn't say Kegums is and Bastogne definitely isn't

I agree they have all looked faster so far. But I think the first two rounds were unrepresentative of most tracks on the GP tour. Last weekend race in Valkenswaard was also unusually fast due to the very cold temperatures, which hardened the ground significantly. I think the bigger issue though is surfaces rather than layouts.

In regards to Jimmy I think they'll be some tracks that aren't an issue for him at all, but other surfaces will be unlike anything he's seen before - for instance the very hard pack or very deep sand tracks, basically the extremes. We'll see though, some riders adapt easier than others.

Either way it's always very cool when someone comes over from another series for the long haul. Huge respect to Jimmy... I think it shows great character. Regardless of what anyone thinks about the GPs, the competition or how well he'll do etc; I honestly believe 100% he's making the best decision. The CLS team is a VERY good setup, definitely one of the top end teams. He's absolutely right about this being a great opportunity and he should definitely grab it with both hands.

Crap! That's disappointing news. Bad for him and bad for the series. Get well soon Romain.

LMAO! Also, I haven't got the impression a riders stock goes down by doing the other series, seems Osbourne got more attention than ever when he did his overseas adventure.

Also, imagine the life experience!

I'm jealous, imagine the adventure (and all the chicks he's going to meet in Europe)!

Excellent opportunity if you ask me,look at Zach, and you could hardly ask for a better ride, sure the class isn't at it's strongest and Herlings is an animal but the guys in there are still fast,it's great to see a US guy do the GPs and Jimmy has pace and on some tracks should do well,a lot depends on how he adjusts, interesting stuff..

I don't know what success in the GPs means but the fellow who wrote that there was no precendent for an American to do well in their first GP didn't read about Jim Pomeroy.
