So happy the green fencing is gone.
Just hope to promoter of Valkenswaard decided to not use that stuff also.

Kraitos, the promoter has been awesome to me... taking me to the track, showing me around BK and like you said MMCMX, he's done soooo much promoting in different media avenues, i hope the event can match his efforts - one example was a little 50cc track in the centre on Bangkok itself

the track still requires some work, but greg atkins is now on-site and will be until the race probably so he won't rest until it looks the part

also, some good news in that there won't be any green-netting at this round!
There must be more motorcycle, well, scooter riders in Thailand than any other country on the circuit... I hope that translates to curious moto fans. haha. Also hope the entry fee is affordable for the locals.

Let's hope they have some hay bales to stop riders cutting the corners this week.

Kinda funny how MX Sports is starting to look like Youth Stream with the tracks they are starting to go to. Just my opinion. Like Utah and Elsinore. Whats next Daytona as a dual round of MX and SX. Is this how we want our outdoors to become? I don't

Quite a sizable mx scene in thailand, they race their scooters, modified.

About the same price as concert tickets for touring artists, not cheap not too expensive.

I spoke to a local shop owner, some 100kms from the track, who had some mx bikes, he didnt know anything was happening.

Seen a bit of stuff on local tv but i dont watch much, so who knows

Certainly will have more spectators than Quatar,

Yeah Iv'e heard that a few times over the years, that the motorcycle scene (towards an off-road interest) out there is surprisingly popular. I think the spectator count has a good chance of being very respectable or at least, as you say, certainly better than Qatar.

It won't make for great racing. The soil is too hard. The soil is too soft. Euros suck. Herlings can ride hard pack too, you just watch! I can't believe how Luongo sucked the life out of that series. The new format sucks. The new format RULES.

That should cover it.

For better or worse, I think the days of tracks in the hills and trees are numbered. If you think about it, they aren't very practical for anyone involved.

Personally, I think tracks like Washougal are terrible. Small spectator areas with bad sight lines, no amenities, limited area for track re-designs. Getting in and out of there is no picnic either. Worst of all, they are kind of locked in to what they have to work with there. I'll take venues like Utah or Elsinore over that all day long. Even if they suck at first, at least they have some potential to make improvements.

Elsinore had one of the best races of the year in my humble opinion.

Back on topic, the track is looking typically well prepared and will be backed up with a typically professional feel come race weekend. This will be good to see.

Have you ever been to WASHOUGAL? The dirt is a little sketchy and I think the whoop section before the finish line is a terrible idea but that track has seen some of the best racing in the Nationals. From Mike Brown's first National win (was also HoTs first) to the epic Stewart RC battle.

Nature of the sport that MX tracks aren't close to cities and airports but WASHOUGAL is only an hour or so from Portland. SX Parking lots aren't exactly easy to leave right after the 450 main eIther.

BTW the day we don't have any natural terrian MX tracks left is the day I stop being a fan.

Just got back from Thailand just over a week ago.. weather was nice and not that hot at all.

By the way, none of those chick pictures in this thread are pictures of girls.. they are all ladyboys. I cant beleive they are using ladyboys. Pity those who cant tell the difference, unless you like your girls with 3 legs Smile

cause it means on their trip out here they went with ladyboys and didn't know.

seriously mate they they dont use lbs for promotions like that,

there are more than enough stunning thai girls to do that.

that you think they are makes me laugh hence 555555

Yes, I've been to Washougal. I didn't like it (for riding or watching). JMHO.

I guess the one cool thing it has going for it is that it's different from the other tracks, but I don't see it being the future of the sport.

Absolutely torrential rain here. Bikes are peeling off the track. Can barely have a conversation in the press room through the noise....and the roof caves in...gallons of water coming through gaps in the marquee. unreal makes English rain look like a drip

Do they have enough power washers out there to handle this ?

Otherwise, the program will be drastically shortened, I guess ?!

Wow, unbelievable. Washougal is one of the best tracks on the West Coast, along with Honey Lake, Glen Helen, Mammoth, and Zaca Station. Maybe you should take up flat track, I hear it's making a comeback. And I like flat track, but it ain't MotoCross.

Hasn't rained much in 2/3 mths and they get this, uggg!!

Usually wont rain for long but it does come down in buckets so there will be water lying.

Now if the sun comes out watch out for the humidity.

Hows the access and spectator numbers for today?

I don't know I'm not there but this is a photo of the press room

I think it'll make the race really interesting and will suit guys like Searle.

LOL!

I hope for a success. Thai-people seems to be a poor but humble breed, if they can get ANY out of this, I'm happy for them all.
