Did CBS seriously not show the first 3 laps of the main before the red flag? I'm not one to complain about the coverage but seriously?

It was on at 11am central, no LCQ and didn't get to see the start. Come back from comercial and they are on a single file restart??

I posted this in the other start complaint thread too, but I'll post it here in case anyone missed it.

I'll try to give you guys the best rundown I can from my perspective.

Alessi got the holeshot. Villopoto looked like he might get it but Stewart snuck to the inside and went straight for Villopoto's front tire. This took Villopoto wide into Barcia. It was really great riding for Villopoto to stay up. Barcia was second and Stewart third.

Stewart made an aggressive pass on Barcia to move into second. Stewart caught up to Alessi and after the wall jump heading down the start straight, Alessi literally looked back, let off the throttle, and moved over to let Stewart by. Then he got right back in line behind James and proceeded to race Barcia and Villopoto hard. Barcia and Villopoto both got around Alessi. Barcia and Villopoto then closed in on Stewart a little but then the big crash happened and it was red flagged. The lap before they red flagged it was when Villopoto single doubled the triple to pass Alessi, which he was docked 3 positions for.

I hope this helps you guys a little bit. Obviously video footage is always better.

How for the love of God do you not show the first 3 laps of the 450 main event? Whats next, they don't show the end of the race? Who cares right? To think someone (feld?) pays huge money to CBS for them to broadcast this sport is amazing. Then CBS shows endless shit they can charge more money for like go pro baby crap and traxxis rc car commercials.
Stop showing the qualifiers. Stop showing the LCQ. Stop showing Erins interviews. Stop showing the Monster chics. Stop showing every fucken thing except commercials and the main events. Please. I realize CBS only gets paid to show a 1hr program but the main event is 16 minutes.
So pissed CBS outbid (yes other sports get paid to be on tv) Speed TV for the Formula 1 broadcast rights starting next month. And that is on some obscure cbs sports network channel not even the national feed like todays debacle.
Wow. Just Wow. Huge fucken fail CBS.

My local CBS affiliate air a show called Liberty Kids, which first aired in January 2003! WTF... This always seems to happen. Then afterwards, there was a CBS Sports Spectacular that happened to be Bull Riding.... The CBS coverage blows and I hope they get this shit figured out next year. Total garbage. And to top it off, it sounds like I missed a hell of a race.

How many people do they even get to watch these races on CBS? It must not be too many if they have to pay CBS and the local affiliates can choose to air 10 year old cartoons in it's place. Please show all the races on SPEED or even Fuel. I don't care if its a day late.

You hit the nail on the head. It's your local affiliate that decides what they air. CBS runs the program, the affiliate decides which programs it will air. Contacting you local affiliate will be far more effective than contacting CBS, or VitalMX. Tongue

network exposure should be very good for the sport.

showing a main event as a stagger start does nothing but confuse the general public.

i love the weeks of live coverage and detest the taped package cbs puts together.

If they're alienating the hardcore viewers and casuals continue to barely give a fuck.........then what benefit is this exposure creating?

Terry, you constantly complain about everyone else that has an opinion. Not very professional at "your job" inho.

As far as the coverage, I have to agree with everyone who "complained" about not showing the first three laps. I also hit the rewind button because I was thinking they were showing a different race from a different time. I don't believe I have ever, in my life, watched a professional sporting event that started part way through the final when it wasn't pre empted by something. This was obviously not pre empted by another event, so the producers totally screwed the pooch on this one. If you don't like the fact that a few are on here venting, why bother to post anything at all? I'd bet money that the majority of people that watched the race were thinking the same thing, they just didn't come on here and post.
