Did they really skip 6 laps of the race during the commercial break?

I'm glad they fit the interview in with that baseball player I've never heard of.

after such improvement with last week, the CBS coverage is an utter failure.

Im trying not to get too uptight about this because not too long ago we didn't have the TV coverage for this sport that we do now but when we get spoiled with same day coverage the previous two weeks and then have to deal with this channel changing crap the next day really sucks.

250s were on before the 450s, on speed.

Well eff me in the A.

Honestly when I was setting it up I just saw Sports Spectacular twice so I figured it was going to happen right after. That's what I get for thinking.

Direct had TORC Truck racing listed on Speed at 9, but the 250's were on. My BIL gave the heads up that it was on. Is that Direct TV's fault?

I thought the broadcast was fine.

-Windham retirement at the begining of the show was classy as was Reeds mention of KW in his podium speech.
-They missed some initial passes but went back and showed them on replay, which I thought was good that they at least got the pass on tape.
-Played up the Canard injury card to make a good story for the casual fan. I'm cool with that but lets hope this story dies down and we can move forward with what Canard is doing now.
-Scott Spezieo makes SX seem cool to the average non-moto fan whos looking for something to watch before football starts.
-They were able to show what happened to Barcia in both the crash and what his face looked like.

On a whole I thought it was one of the better CBS broadcasts.

I prefer the production of the SX Live internet show -- SERIOUSLY.

Is it really bitching when 1/3 of the race is cut out for commercials? They skipped a whole 6 laps, after spending about 10 minutes on commercials before the main event.

I understand the commercial breaks, but who gives a fark about that baseball player? A lot of wasted time.

I thought it was a huge improvement after last year, when we had 15-20 mins of racing and the rest watching Stewie go to Taco Bell.

Did he seem fucked up to anyone else? I think he put down some cocktails at the race

I think it's because normally on these one hour shows, we see 1 heat race, highlights from the other heat race, and then the main. This time we watched both heats and got screwed on the main.

Show heat race highlights and then the whole race start to finish. It's only 20 minutes long.....if that. No one cares about the LCQ! Or the baseball player, or Stewart's cinnamon twists, or RV thanking Geoff Fox and pretending to drink out of a Monster can.

And the heat races are chopped all up too. They were nowhere near 8 laps long (on TV).

The heats were cut too, at least the first one was.

Bottom line, SX on CBS sucks, always has, probably always will. Now the industry insiders will chime in and tell you it's the exact same crew that does the Speed coverage. Might be, but it ain't the same show now is it?

I just realized what the difference is.

The SPEED taped telecasts are the same....all chopped up, except they only have a 15 lap main to deal with in the 250's.
The other SPEED telecasts are LIVE, so they have no need to cut it up or find room for other stuff as there are plenty of lags in the action to go to town. It is whoever is in charge of the editing on the taped telecasts that's to blame.

That was my first thought. He looked glassy eyed. He did have some substance abuse problems a few years back. Oh well, he wouldnt be the first celebrity to attend a sporting event and enjoy some refeshments. I see hes still rocking the died red "Emperial" facial hair.

I had the whole first heat, not a single glimpse of the second heat, and some LCQ highlights...
