["I do it because it's fun, and that's me," Reed says in a YouTube video. "I built a go-cart track at my house because I love to just go out there and be a kid, still. Of all the kids that I see and hang out with, I'm the biggest of them all. I don't want to change that."

Neighbor Jacque Klein is not amused. "He didn't build it at his house — he built in my backyard," she said. "He doesn't live here. He lives in a gated community."

The problem, just from the stories, is that he got a use permit that imposed conditions and according to the reports didn't abide by it. However crazy the woman is, you don't want to piss off the zoning board that you applied to and accepted the conditions they set, by blowing them off. And, again, just on the reports, it wasn't the first time he exceeded the permit.

There are the people out there who hate us, but moto folks do a really bad job sometimes at giving them ammo.

I don't live very far from Reeds practice tracks. When I worked for the Pasco Sheriff's Office I had many unverifiable noise disturbance complaints in that area. I don't know why that lady has such a hard on for Chad's property unless she wanted to purchase it and bought it out from under her (have heard from other people that she wanted to purchase the property but Chad beat her to it, but take this with a grain of salt) . Its in a non-populated area, and on the weekends, the mud hole (on private property that gets 20-30 trucks every weekend) right down the street has enough rednecks with open header mud trucks to make you really appreciate a muffled dirt bike.

Man that would suck if he built the track and couldn't use it, sounds like a lot of BS. Seems like there could at least be some kind of compromise.

Sat in a court hearing today in the next county for 8 hours on a land use issue riding on your own property.
The noise can't be over standards or he would be issued a summons and shut down.

In our county a new head of the building and code enforcement has set a precedent saying you can't have a mx track on your property. Other citations were issued such as moving dirt and land clearing without permits or approval. The official told the owner you cannot bring fill dirt onto your property without a permit. One of the witnesses with me went out to the lobby and called the bldg dept and asked if he could bring fill dirt on his property for erosion control and they said no permit was required. Our biggest issue is that their is no uniformity in issuing citations, there are many other private tracks my son rides on and none of those owners have been issued citations. Four of those owners have had the bldg dept visit their property for other citations not related to their mx track, yet the official still notes in report a mx track is there and it is in compliance. NOW all of the sudden the head of the dept finds a problem with this particular owners track.

I hate people like her!! Makes me want to wish bad things on them.

And To me its a catch 22... You buy property... pay taxes on it. (Buying means own) and you still cannot do what you want on it?? because some fucking bitch has a issue. and you need zoning requirements and a bunch of other shit to modify your property?!?!?

whats the point of owning anything, if you cannot do as you please with it?

sorry for the rant, but i think its bs.

That is so wrong IMO and totally blows the whole "cool factor" of carts. I used to do all the work on a friends back in the 90's when shifters were just getting big, and a 125 sounds so incredible!

Motocross and karting tracks don't belong in residential areas.

I don't think the woman is automatically a "bitch" just because she has an expectation of a reasonable level of peace and quiet. Besides the noise, I imagine there is an understandable fear that the tracks have put her own property value in the shitter.

I think you guys are biased because the situation involves motorsports and Chad Reed. If it were some other equally onerous activity taking place near your own property, I bet you'd all be crying the blues to the lawman too.

Exactly. Apparently he hasn't complied with the terms and conditions that he was granted, and quite frankly it wasn't very smart of him to continue to do so.

Didn't he just move to this property in the last two years?

The people on here that blindly take his side no matter what he does look just as silly as him for not sticking to what he was allowed to do.

What part of this looks residential to you? I would call this rural farm area.

Sounds like a cunt. Sucks that Reedy bought this property, apparently in the middle of nowhere, and can't even use it to do something 100% legal and pertaining to his profession on it. I'd put a chicken barn as close to her property line as possible and see how she felt about that.

Is this a residential area? He has 63 acres and the lady runs a business on her property.

I'll add that something about the ladies comments don't sound right. I have heard several comments from people about these exact issues and they never use the word "training".

The picture from stash's post looks pretty remote, but the article mentioned a house, and that bikes/karts can be heard from it. 63 acres really isn't that much of a buffer given how loud modern bikes and karts are.

She may very well be completely full of shit, but she claims to know (from the noise, ostensibly) that he is violating the terms of his permits. It seems like that would be easy to disprove if that isn't the case.

I love moto, and karts and just about anything else with wheels and would love to spend a day at Reeds compound, BUT if I was his neighbor I would be pissed as well. Even as a complete moto head I would want a break too. All that shit is cool do do or to watch but if I was sitting down to eat my dinner on my patio and i had top listen to a bunch of guys bust out endless laps I'd lose my shit.
1/9/2013 10:53pm
He should have put 2 strokes on his karts.

Here we go again, 4 strokes shutting down more fun. When will you guys learn.
