What you guys think?
If he manages to stay away from the bike issues he came up against last season I think he should have a good season

I'd sooner put my faith in Bubba staying healthy before Mookie putting together a string of wins.

Yes. In supercross though.

The kid is super talented and has a lot of speed. But a 450 would better suite his size and style.

I do think he will be on the box this year.

I think he could bust the podium a bit this year.

I really enjoy watching Malcolm ride, and he has shown that he has some serious speed. If he stays healthy there is no reason he can't finish well at the end of the year.

No. We aren't even talking about this guy if not for the greatness of his brother. He's more erratic than his brother and much slower. Not a good combination.

Man I always cheer for Mookie! He needs to be more patient though, he will be up there sooner or later. I thought it would be sooner but oh well, maybe this year!

You couldn't be more wrong Tdeath21, he is has the makings of a top rider and is doing great considering he didn't get serious about MX until recently.

I think he'll be a podium threat in SX this year. I remember he led a couple races last year and pulled a few top 5s? Should improve some.

it says he's on west coast.. don't know why they wouldn't put him in the east.

Pretty big guy for the small bores. But I think he has a better style on the bike than Bubba even though he squirrels out a lot.

alrite im back at you my moose chip loving friend,,,,

stfu, U have never seen Malcolm ride and the natural ability he possesses. He knows he has the talent, I guess we will see it if he wants to show.

There's always pro bass fishing; no shit.

passing bogle on the outside going into that rut, putting the lean on him, towards the end of the year in the nats. mad style.

Bike problems caused him a lot of issues last year. Hopefully, those get resolved. He definitely showed potential last year. I think we will see him on the podium a few times this year. West coast is definitely a pretty stacked class this year.

No. Mookie will never be anything more than a gate filler. Sad but true.

I think some people here are gonna be awfully surprised at how well Malcolm's career goes.

Be great to see him get his 1st podium this year, my young bloke got JDR first ever podium last season so hopefully the team and Mookie can build from there. Maybe even a win!!

I watched him faceplant wide open in the first turn at Budds. He got up, knocked the dirt out of his grips and ended up finishing about 10th. I was impressed, and his KTM was a hotrod. JDR has a good motor guy.

But to be realistic, this will be his 3rd pro year (?) and I could count on one hand the motos/heats/mains he has finished without falling in two full years of racing.

Define "breaking out."

Winning races? Winning the title? In the same tier as Wilson, Tomac, Roczen, etc.?

Don't see it. I think you would have seen it by now. I do think he can win a race or two, but he's in the Davalos class of really talented rider whose ceiling is below the best.

No doubt the kid has talent. But talent alone rarely gets a podium. His best race he might get to stand up there, but probably a 4th or 5th will be best for him. Outdoors he could do a podium maybe too, but like you all said, he's too big for the little bike. Problem is, even though he is probably better on the 450, the 450 will be even harder to find that top 5. Injuries to the 7 (or more)studs not included.

I don't know why you guys think Mookie is some giant. He is 5'9'' 155lbs. It's weird how once something gets said and repeated 6-7 times in the internet, it becomes "fact".

It all depends on your source. A quick google search finds rider profiles that claim he's as big as 5'11" and 170+lbs. That's not a giant by any standards unless we're talking road racing or the 250 class.
