I got to watch it at Texas A&M and it was a great movie. At first I didn't really understand the concept but by the end I was really digging it.

Ran over Mouse's head off the start at the World Mini at Saddleback many moons ago. My dad made go see if he was ok and I did, but wish I didn't...not my fault and I crashed too...could of been a superstarSmile

I read that book two years ago and felt very proud to be an american. When I was kid, Mouse McCoy was like the James Stewart of today on 80's.

Does someone have a link to the book you guys are referring to? I'd be really interested in checking it out.

McCoy and Waugh are guests on Fox News Huckabee. Very interesting listening to them talk about the Seals and how important our military is. Can't wait to see the movie.

Thanks for the heads up. Mouse McCoy was one the first mini stars I ever saw when i was a kid. We raced the 1982 San Diego Sx on amateur day and I remember catching him riding around in the parking lot doing wheelies on a bmx bike. I was Aww struck and when we got home and started practicing on my bike, haha. Will be going to see the movie for sure now.

Not personally, no. Just through facebook (where he is personable and approachable) . He does live only a few clicks from my wife's family in Lufkin/Huntington. The dog killers were convicted in the last couple of weeks. Unfortunately, the crime doesn't carry a lot of time.

He's a genuine bad ass. They're making a movie of his book, too, I think.

Marcus on The Today Show:

If you can handle that, watch this....

Amazon:Restrepo

Then, read this:

Amazon:War

Then buy a vet a drink or a breakfast at IHOP.

Great read. I'd never heard of his story till a friend turned me on to "Lone Survivor" a couple of years ago. I highly recommend it as well.

That's awesome to see. Can't wait to check out the movie.. It's weird seeing Mouse in that element though.

Dan. I had that pic and the one of the yellow DMC Yamaha-i believe it was an '83 or '84 YZ80 on my wall. Loved those bikes as a kid.

Thanks so much for posting this pic!!! I have been looking for it for years as I too had it on my wall as a kid right next to Eddie Hicks' DMC titanium 105! I grew up in the High desert where Eddie was from but Mouse was always my hero. My favorite race was Eddie Hicks vs. Mike Healey at the Saddleback qualifiers for Ponca City in 1983. They diced the entire race about a half a lap ahead of third. Healey had the throttle pinned wide open and just fanned the clutch the entire race trying to keep up with that 105! I can't remember who won though Sad

That river boat extraction scene with the M134 Minigun action is badass.

The timing on this thread was incredible. Been a long time since I've seen Act of Valor. So I jumped on my Amazon prime account , pulled up Showtime , it's available to watch today......only for another 8hrs!!!

If you want to watch it on Showtime , today is your last chance!

Was looking for a movie while on the treadmill and this didn’t disappoint. Lone Survivor is also a great movie and the real Marcus Luttrell is in some scenes. Thanks to all the military who’ve served and sacrificed.
