Favorite moto films?

JC, I saw On the Line at a double feature with Easy Rider. Kind of a desert racer flick if I recall. Thurston , I believe, referred to JN as "A Damn Fool" in the movie.
If you are into it ,while not moto, Joe Kid on a Stingray is a pretty cool movie tracing the roots of BMX.

Summertime Killer. Pretty sure it was a b movie with Carl Malden. The movie had Ossa's in it and a decent plot. Think it came out around '74.

I wore out my Wrathchild, Revelation 199 and Terrafirma tapes. Man, I need to find them again.

What was the name of the movie that came out about a year ago? I think it was called "Freestyle", but it was about moto.

moto (1 thru 3) is full of diverse riding. Not just the typical whip and berm shots

Not one of my favorites, but there was a llittle known Dutch movie back in 1980 with an MX theme background. It was one of Rutger Hauer's first movies. He played a GP world MX champ in the movie.
I wonder if any of the Europeans in this forum ever saw it.

"The Beginning" is definitely one of my favorites. Very interesting to see where all of those riders are at now, and an awesome Josh Lichtle part. As many have already said, "TGO 2" is another great one with the Brownie-Ryno battles and Stewart coming back mid-season to dominate. I also liked the TGO when Dowd was on his farewell tour. Can't think of it off the top of my head.

Agree but even better is The Great Outdoors vids. I'm on the east coast and still don't have power or cable so I fired up the generator and watched about ten of them again. Just awesome videos! The 2003 TGO, 2005 TGO The constant war, and 2008 TGO The Destroyers really stuck out.
this^^ constant war is by far my fav mx movie of all time. although moto 3 was awesome. waiting for moto 4

If it's moto, I love it, but Dust To Glory and Moto3 stand out.

2nd page and no mention yet of Gary Bailey's "Pro's At Practice and Play" Y'all are slipping! It was one of the 1st and IMO the best!

I still have clips from it, like the all time classic of Bradshaw hucking the HUGE quad and DB's house. He rides down the road and looks back, stops, gets off the bike and kicks the tires, turns around hits that thing fully WFO and is as high as the tree line!

I have to agree with this. Judging by the pattern set by the first three, I would say adding 4 to the list would be a safe bet, too.

One last try,,,,,,, The first moto movie I ever saw I might have been 12 years old 1973. It was set in Great Britain. The plot centered around a poor teenager that wanted to race and built his own bike. In one scene, he had to pass tech inspection and either didn't make it or, just barely made it. The guy inspecting the bikes was an old butt muncher. The next kid {and his dad} through the line had a new bike. The inspector bragged about it, a really big deal. Then when the kid started it up, it ran backwards and he ran over the inspector. Another thing I remember about the film is the bridge that was part of the track. The track was muddy as well.
I don't remember the name of the film. I saw it at the public library. It changed the course of my life. I would love to watch it again. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I think I remember that, too! The racing was more of a scrambles-type deal, right?

Maybe so. I reckon motocross in those days was the equivalent of GNCC now. As far as tracks go. I remember that when they crossed the bridge there was a left hand turn. The bridge was painted white.

Tony Blazier has the whole video uploaded to his Youtube channel. I believe it's uploaded under the title of “Air Mania (1989)“. I'd fetch the link for you if I wasn't on my phone.
