With some of the controversy to do with flags/flashing lights and riders not paying attention or seeing things in time, why can't they put a small beacon on the bars that has some lights in it that flash colors? Say for the triple section if there is a yellow flag out the light can flash yellow, red flag with a red light etc. if there are no caution flags out then have the light be Green, white, or checkered depending on the situation.
I'll shut up now.
Tuff block covers should completely cover the tuff blocks. Not just slip over the top and cover the 5 sides. Put a zipper on the bottom so they can be removed, but so they don't come off so easily when a footpeg catches them.
I agree with 20 min + 2 laps. Lap times are just too short.
I would also like to see at least one lane at each race that is divided. Where it's one lane, that's been split into two smaller lanes, each with a totally different jump combination and rhythm from the other. Where two riders are going side by side down the same lane, but with two totally different approaches.
Gnarlier whoops. I know it's more fair without whoops or with tamer whoops, but this isn't NASCAR. It's not about leveling the playing field. This is Supercross, reward the ballsy riders willing to hang it out 4th gear pinned through a crazy whoop section.
Off camber turns. Mix it up a bit.
That thing KTM did with the kids was cool. They didn't really tear up the track, and I think it was good for the kids in the stands to see those kids out there and be able to relate. Often times kids care less about what "grown ups" do and better relate to what other kids are doing. I think it was good to help get the children of "the casual fan" more interested in the sport. Plus it was good advertisement for KTM. But the TV time slot probably no longer allowed it.
I'm sure I'll think of more and edit this later, but that's all I can think of for now.

Think i've talked about with others on here the 15min+2 or 20min+2 structures... seems that would be better... the exception being leave it at Daytona and Vegas cause they have 1min + lap times...
WE have had the amateur thing in Australia for years and generally it is fine... especially if it was 125s... if they run practice and a race earlier in the day and then their 5 lap main in the intermission they fit in fine... and making it 125s means it is only the kids that can truly handle themselves that try the big shit and they are fine... the rest it is jus exposure, getting them used to it and a good time.
Tracks kill me most years but more dirt and 20+2 seems it would help more than anything...
I think the heat race points would be cool... Bubba would have been right in both titles these last few years with these... They could do 1 for a heat race and 1 for fastest lap each lap of the main or something...
Apparently it is the teams that don't wanna make any changes at the races, would be cool to see if the ME cup joker thing and swapping gate is ok that the teams thought about doing some fun stuff...
Also Bathurst is on right now... They did a great tech segment with a deconstructed car in a studio... and the guy was walking through all the adjustments and what that actually does to tyre camber, roll, engine settings blah blah blah... was really cool... Would be cool if the J-Bone segments got more specialised like that..
On an unrelated note I got to meet Phil A a couple weeks ago. He was cool, my life is now complete. ha
Dave-Do you think you guys will get to raise that banner this year or is the whole season a wash?
That one was taken care of last season after the Canard incident.
Bring back the KTM kids!!!!
They can't do semis because of TV contracts.
Amatures would get killed.
250- 15min +2
450- 20min +2
Have a Doug Domokis (sp.) type guy do a wheelie lap!
So i don't think they have anything serious planned with players going over seas and playing in the AHL.
I just look at as we are now 2 year champs hahaha
450, 250, Under 19s, Junior Lites 125/150 2 stroke / 250F and a big wheel 85 class, all racing the full size Supercross track, back to seeing one or two kids hitting a 60-70 foot tripple on a 85!
As for the AMA, I see why the go with quantity of laps for SX and not time plus laps. With the shorter race times these days why not make it (think someone has already posted)
25 laps for 450 Class
20 laps for 250 classes
Daytona and Vegas stay the traditional 20/15 and also have the 20/15 laps in for any mudders, that should ensure every round has a plus 20 minute main event for the 450 class and 15 minute plus main event for the 250 classes.
Track layout has to be hard for these guys these day, what cant a 450 jump these days, apart from Daytona is there an actual venue that could not be jumped end to end these days by a 450 with a big enough run up , or done in two jumps with nearly no run up!
Pit Row
The track layout thing I kinda think people are making it harder than it needs to be... Did you guys see the Jeremy McGrath invitational?! Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying use ramps, but it's amazing what a bit more dirt can do to the racing and the visual appeal of the sport!
By the way, the Toyota people told me that no one wants a full sized bed on a Crew Max Tundra. All the while they are promoting them at SX and MX races. The world really is full of stupid people. Odd how they end up in marketing.....
I'm all for trying to shake things up a bit.
