Yeah I remember that.
But for some reason I though he raced a 350 his first year over (2011) at an East race and got a top 10.
Edit (looked it up): Houston 7th & Daytona 8th in 2011. 2 top 10's in both his go's in the big bike class in SX ,in his first year.

Roczen is always outspoken, unscripted and respectful, especially for someone his age. That's what makes him so much more interesting than Musquin even though their past GP history and results this past summer are very similar. Let's not beat the guy to pieces for stating the obvious otherwise he'll stop tweeting and clam up like the majority of pro's. Then we'll have to complain about another rider being superpumped about everything.

He gets his ass beat around for an entire season and no one says a word. He wins one race on a track he knows like the back of his hand and suddenly he is the best. Tired of the excuses always coming from Roczen and this time its from his own mouth. Liked this kid when he first came over but honestly I am glad he was shown what MX is all about all summer.

(Not that you'd ever credit the guy any credit anyway...)
Sooo... Your judging everything from one race instead of an entire series. Ok then...

So top 5 in Nationals and winning a SX in his first year is getting your ass beat?

You realize he did better than Baggett did in his first SX year?

Fact is Roczen is a 3 times MX2 MXDN winner, and his team performed as they should've for the first year, and they win it all.

Baggett wasn't even second best MX2 rider, Dungey not even top 3 MX1, Barcia is the rookie and performed the best he could. (maybe a bit to aggresive with the track, but hey he's Bambam.)

Roczen's tweets are earnest, and make a lot of sense.

Sure you're not just a bit butthurt?
Compared to what everyone said he was gonna do. I am talking about outdoors here BTW. You know, that thing that both Roczen and Bagget have ridden all their lives? Top 5 is NEVER a bad performance, but when all I heard prior to him coming over was how he was gonna dominate it makes his results a bit of a disappointment. KROC's tweets were an excuse for why he didn't do as well he thought he would this year. Yet again everyone is using a one-off race at Lommel as their talent yardstick instead of an entire championship.

What is wrong with you guys? Kroc is telling it like it is. Over here he gets lots of flak for not being able to win. His reply is usually, it's hard to be in a new country not knowing the tracks and dealing with the heat. Also he has stated that the racing style is much faster paced for the whole race. He has never dealt with that before. I personally think he was shutting up all the haters in the tweets by saying, it's the same for him being here as was for us being there. The kid will be a force to be reckoned with in 2013 SX and MX he just needs to get used to the long term pace and deal with the heat and he can be champ. The kid kicked ass at home where he is comfortable and now that this is home for him he will do the same. I personally don't care where he is from but like the way the kid is adapting to the USA. Good kid in good hands for a long time to come.

Props to Germany and other teams that did well. You were the better team this year

What I dont get is he claims its hard to win in a country your not use to, which is understandable but our guys go over there about every year and dominate. Look at 2011, RV and Dungey went and did work that year. Sure the other countries didnt make it easy. I love Kenny and I know hes a fantastic rider but I hope he doesnt come over here again thinking hes "the shit".

Considering that the kid only discovered pubic hair on his ball sac a few years ago, he is doing pretty well. Already a world champion, has excelled at SX already, has led a ton of laps this past summer and kept the pace more often than not with the top dogs-and just won the MXoN. His tweet was innocent, and he has always (in my mind anyway) been a respectful kid. He could easily be a complete d-bag, but all things considered, he has done very well in every way. He will be a consistent threat next year, no doubt. I guess if an 18 yr old can have an almost 50 yr old as a fan, I'm one of them. I like Tomac too, and Baggett, and Barcia, and Musquin. Pretty talented crop I'd say, and I don't think any of them are d-bags. Sure Barcia has had a couple of hissy fits, but he is doing just fine now and will be a stud on a 450.

The funny part is before the race, many fans were stating how team USA were not at a disadvantage, they could ride sand and that 'we've got Southwick' etc etc..... I don't have the time or patience, but would be funny to click back and dig up some of the quotes.
Indeed!! And as soon as their guys did not run at the front they started saying they had a huge disadvantage, and it was the same as like the GP guys would be racing A1. Grinning It's crazy how allot of them turned their words around fast!

GP fans said for years they could not be beaten at Lommel and they got laughed at for that. "We got sand to, our guys where born in it. Come see our sandboxes in Florida! We are the best of the world, GP is nothing but 2nd tier!!!"
Now they go with the 'yeah you won but come A1 and lose' kinda crap.

it just never ends...

Atleast some of them US fans are good sports and show some respect....thank god.

It is not necessary for the GP riders to come to A1 in order for the U.S. to beat them. France, England, Maryland, England again, Italy, Colorado, and France seemed to be acceptable.

Oh how quickly you forget.

Let me ask you one simple question: Do you think the U.S. riders were at a disadvantage or not?

And my post is relevant to what you said in this way:

"GP fans said for years they could not be beaten at Lommel and they got laughed at for that. "We got sand to, our guys where born in it. Come see our sandboxes in Florida! We are the best in the world, GP is nothing but 2nd tier!!!"

I agree with those who say that the U.S. would dominate at A1. But that is what I consider an extreme example and one that is not necessary to make in order to prove the argument.

The U.S. didn't need A1 or any other supercrosses to win the MXdN 7 times in row, with 5 of those wins on European tracks and even GP tracks they had never ridden before.

So actually, I agree with you that "Come to A1 and we'll beat you" is a silly argument. The U.S. won the event 7 times with no supercross in sight.

Did someone stick a gun to his head and force him to race in america this year?

When you volunteer to challenge yourself, I feel, you lose the option to complain about the results.

The point of my post is that there was chestpounding all around. There was no way that someone would beat the US because the US riders where better and it did not matter if there was deep sand or not.

We said for YEARS (yes, those 7 years) that you would be beaten in the Lommel sand. And we got laughed at!
"Because be fair, no one can beat the all mighty Americans!"

Do i agree that we where at an advantage? read what i just wrote. WE SAID IT ALL THOSE YEARS!! for crying out loud. But the US fans refused to believe it... First they go all out at laughin us in the face and then they turn around and play the advantage card afterall.... Rather then suck it up and salute the GP riders for the skill they showed, allot of the US fans keep comming with the rediculous A1 crap...

My previous post was at how fast the words where turned around and gone from laughing to excuses (yeah the advantage card is an excuse aswell after all that chest pounding, accoring to the US fans it was non-existant. Wasnt it?) and A1 claims....

Like i said before, thank god not ALL of them are like that and those with a real sense of motocross know how and when to show respect for the GP riders, in general, not only the sand.

And every time this kind of convo comes up there is always the 'we beat you 7 times before' aswell... Maybe try to have a real discussion first, before slamming your fists on the table like a mad baboon... Wink

He clearly points his 'complaint' about the negativity he get's about being an MX2 champion and not winning enough, according to some US fans. That apperantly it means a GP title is nothing.

He wants to point out disadvantage is a big thing, US got the unknown deep sand. Kenny get's the unknown tracks, culture, team and people, heat, elevation. And moving away from everything he knows and is comfortable with.

All he wants to say is: hey, now u got a little taste about what i encounter all year long.

I don't see how anyone could slam on this kid. I'm glad he's over here as he just makes our series even better. I don't get the "dislike " from a few guys here in this thread. He comes across as a humble past world champion that is just trying to make a mark here in the USA. I read his tweets.....and I don't quite get what a few of you said.....making it sound like he was complaining. To me.....it sounded like he was admitting he struggled a little with the nationals because of having to move 1/2 way around the world into a different environment. He was just saying " See what I mean" type of thing.

Fwiw ......I fucking love that kid!

So Steed 2.0 was true, you're lonely at the top. Once Ken will feel more comfy and begin to win (cause he probably will) some fans will turn their back and bash on him for futile details?

It's no different than if the US managed to win World Cup Soccer 2014. You think we would prance around, say we are best in the world, and make excuses for the many losses we've had? Hell no. Roczen is just a kid, so it's expected. But I'm pretty sure he lost some fans, me included.

For what exactly though????? Telling the truth, stating the facts?

I think its unbelievable that some of you guys have taken offence to what he said in those tweets, absolutely unbelievable. You must be incredibly small minded to think it was even remotely derogatory. Being one of a few riders to have actually experienced the crossover, you might want to consider that actually, his opinion is worth listening to!

Stop being so over sensitive.

I've seen it happen so often and the internet only made it worse

Motocross is a great sport, fans can come close to the riders, it's not like F1 and MotoGP but I'm not so sure if it will stay that way

de Coster once said hardcore fans are the backbone of the sport but they can be also a pain in the ass they want so much attention

No,he's met his AMA counterparts twice in Europe now and each time he's beaten them,Baggett 4 out of 4,Wilson 2 out of 2 what he's saying seems pretty straight forward to me,in the US It seems tougher away from home, thats just been reflected in his results

You can't argue how well and comfortable he's looked at his home GP and at the MXdN performances, heck he's even passed and beaten the AMA 450 Champ,Dungey every time they've met in EuropeWink

Why don't you stick to Trolling on YouTube, the amount of crap you talk is unreal
