However, this is my pick. Pretty tough to top this action. credit to Teyblyy

This is always the direction I lean as the works Honda's were absolute works of art. However, I can roll this beauty out there right next to one of those and 99% of the general public will all of a sudden think that is just some production bike sitting next to the O'Show. This is THE one I drooled over as a kid.Smile

Yes sir, vintage bikes and older works bikes are pretty, sexy, gorgeous and bad ass. They had character. They were different. Some were out of reach and others were downright unobtainable. Dream bikes to some of us. That bike you have pictured right there, while expensive, trick, very well prepped and assembled, fast and oh so well suspended is nothing more than a dolled up version of the production bike just like the kid down the street has.Wink

After driving my Dad mad about the sport of Motocross for about 4 months, I finally convinced him to take me to our nearest MX dealer where (unknown to me) the newly released 1996 CRs had just arrived. This is quite literally the first MX bike I had ever seen in person and as a kid insane with intrigue over everything MX - I must have spent about 30 minutes examining every detail, drooling over it. Even the shop owner was good enough to come over and chat with me about the sport, how to get started etc. To this day I still love the look, plus it holds a special place in my earliest MX memories.

x2 this is a true works bike not that cookie cutter crap today. Look at the tank, sub-frame air-box assembly, and the works swing arm, that kind of stuff does not exist today. I know some one who has one of those swing-arms that I could use along with one of those opaque mud flaps for my 83 build I'm doing.

The thread wasnt asking for the trickest, most unobtainable bike ever, it was most beautiful. The looks of that bike blow any dinosaur vintage bike out of the water. IMO

And six months from now when the flat black murdered out fad fizzles, it will be in the ugliest bikes of all time thread. IMO

agree.

some of the later generations of mx have no idea how great this bike was and still is. go back and look at the 81 or 82 bikes in the class and this bike was so freaking superior in style and tech its not even funny. This bike ended WORKS bikes. Its a hand made/one off piece of beauty...and i hate hondas. lol.

if you think about it, you put a set of oversize disks, throw some A-kits on it and you have a bike that would ride today.

To each his own.

To us old guys some of the "glory years" stuff will always be pure art!

Worst thing about it, it's hard to pick just one or even several ones throughout the history of MX bikes.

i do know where you are coming from though. I guess it just depends on the era you grew up in. I was a teen when Stanton was battling Bradshaw and the 92-93 Factory Honda's will always be the coolest bikes ever for me

I took that picture long with some others. Cliff White and Jim Felt spent almost a week at the Holiday Inn on Navarre Beach working on the bikes before the Daytona Supercross. I went by several days in a row just to talk with them and they hooked me up with some cool stickers. Sorry for the bad photo quality as it was the first time I used a camera with manual settings.

No. It's a 4 stroke.Laughing Just kidding, that is a good looking bike. You do get major style points for the gold rims on a Honda. Some things just never go out of style!

Looks like a bike that a heel clicker could be thrown on the first lap with!

This is hard to beat. Classic retro styling, modern bike and lines.
