From Racer X

So, where are you with 2013?
Yeah, I've signed my deal with Jeff Ward Racing. Nothing has been released yet out of respect for Mitch and everyone at Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki, because I'm still contracted to them at this time [for this season} and they've been great to me.

Yes. Happy for him. That means no 450 Pro-Circuit next season, right?

One would like to think they would have left that part out out of respect for Dean and Pro Circuit like Transworld Bleeped it out. C'mon......

I'm not sure why you guys seem to think this team isn't that great. I think that more than anything they have suffered due to injuries. It's not like the team has ever won a race or a SX title...

I'm not saying JWR is bad, I just thought Deano would get a factory ride.

Wasn't he offered the KTM Factory 450 ride?

I don't think they ever offered it to him, since they're staying with Dungey as a sole rider. I think he would be a good second rider for Suzuki, or a third for Kawasaki. Of course, when you look at it, there aren't that many spots available.

Isn't he rumored to be landing at JGR with Brayton next year?

I thought they were already "factoryish" or had some factory/semi-factory stuff under the tent already. I thought that's what made Kenny Watson (and presumably Carey) mad at Kawasaki since they didn't have access to that stuff even though they could write the check and have been around much longer. And, of course, this year H&H will get it but not from Kawasaki.

Tickle has to be the second piece to JGR's puzzle, right? It seems like what's best for both of them.

Lots of good opportunities for Deano but factory Kawi wasn't one of them just because they are full at the moment. Wait till next year if Weimer struggles...Baggett will move right in.

Wilson's logic was solid for picking that team however it seems like KTM is on the rise. Seems like he chose to stay with Monster rather than what bike brand.

Best of luck to him!

KTM was interested in him. Someone posted it a few days ago that Roger said since they didn't get Dean, they were sticking with one 450 rider

Best of luck, should be a breakout year for JWR. Now if only they could convince Pourcel that an inconsistent GP rider is not worth the top dollars he's asking they'd be a powerhouse Wink

The line between "Factory ride" and "Support ride" will continue to blur.

I would take Wardy's expertise over many "factory" team arrangements.

Wilson had choices and made a good choice it seems.

in my books the shop that has the staff, money and the abiltity to R&D bikes & parts is factory in 2012.

Deano to JWR will be top a tier team.

That's what I heard before in the past as well. I had mentioned that a few times here and a few other places.....and I didn't think anyone believed me. Deano may not be under the factory tent like RV and JW......but his bikes should be damn close ( if not the same ).

I think he "wanted" to stay on the Kawasaki's. I'm not sure if KTM ever offered a deal or not......but wasn't it kind of a known fact that the KTM factory rig was only going to have one bike in the 450 class.....meaning Dungey?

Some people seem to think JWR is some sub par team.......I don't see it that way if they have the means to get factory bikes.

BTW.....Happy for Dean that he got as ride nailed down.

Hasn't The JWR AKA San Manuel Yamaha team won 2 or 3 supercross championships? Don't the factory Kawasakis get put together and tested by the factory techs?

Sure looks like the team is Factory Kawasaki to me, maybe with some different logos...

Two championships, one each for Reed (2008) and Stewart (2009).

I always wished that we could hear the details of the offers made specifically around win bonuses vs. guaranteed salary. Just from a guy who knows nothing about nothing, it seems like Dungey would do very well with a heavy performance based salary whereas Deano would likely take an offer that was more geared around a guaranteed salary with a lower win bonus. I don't care how the deal is structured as long as it is reasonable, I'm going with Decoster. KTM is only going to get better. . .

What else is interesting is contract details around equipment even. Such as what is in Dean's deal...
