got more mx experience than you'll ever have, worked at Husqvarna for 2 years (press relations mgr and mx team mgr with mickey dymond and danny laporte), developed the RMX and ran the off road racing team (7 years) with Randy Hawkins, Steve Hatch (7 natl enduro championships) raced (contract racer) for american honda and have tons of (started the Valli WORCS offroad team with Bobby Bonds, Kyle Summers and Bobby Garrison) offroad experience where a rider has nothing but heart to finish gnarly all day (not 30 mins + 2 laps) offroad events. From what I saw ( all 110 lbs) he doesn't seem to have the heart, wasn't too upset about crashing. Still stand behind my statement of proving he has heart, time will tell and oh yea...JMO!!
Charlie...Good to see you haven't lost your edge....Cheers

well im not sure what the kid has in terms of heart and desire but he does have balls...BIG.FUCKING BALLS. he has jumped feet first into the fire and is seeing how hot it is and he has more holeshots than many of the veterans have in their entire career. Smile

Don't think its the crashing comments that has everyone so riled up but your opinion that he has no heart. I appreciate all your accomplishments with racing, but you honestly have no idea what its like to race now...at that speed in MX. (every week it gets faster and faster too)
Zach lines ups with the best 39 racers in the world, 1st week riding a bike he has tested, but never raced, holds the throttle WIDE open and pulls the holeshot. Last week at Unadilla his bike skipped sideways in front of everyone, but he never let off...if those 2 starts alone don't show heart then im confused where its coming from.
Anyway...lets just sit back and see how it all plays out. He took a bad crash last week. Hes a tough kid. My opinion is you will see him out front every week, just a matter of time till he's there at the checkers..

btw, if you read my comments none of them said anything about him crashing!! Yea I physically haven't raced in awhile I'll give you that but as for knowing what its like to race now, I started the Valli MX national effort just a few years ago with Jimmy Albertson and Sean Hamblin. Assembled the bikes, parts, schedules etc and had to hire Kyle Regal after Sean got hurt @ Glen Helen. We ended up top 10 with Albee and Top Privateer with Kyle!! I currently am the team manager for EMT Racing with Kyle Summers who will be racing the west coast sx and mx nationals along with our priority series being WORCS. You say along with others he's a tough kid, time will tell. I based my comments on his Southwick performance and they didn't show the crash and it must of been a good one as my opinion was based on watching him cruise to the pit and I'm like, "dude, get back on the track for at least a top 5"!! Zigfelder's picked out some good ones and I'm hope he's right again...bottom line!!
get back on the track for a top 5? Didn't he have a slight concussion? And was seeing stars? I feel like getting back on the track would of been a huge danger to himself and others. Plus the Asterik crew told him he couldn't ride the rest of the day I believe. I hit my head during a race a few years ago so I know first hand what the slightest concussion is like, and it's no fun. I pulled off immediately and packed it in.

He has speed for sure and may have heart and determination. But one thing I notice is his technique and form on the bike needs work. He rides elbows down, leans off the back of the bike, his leg flails to the side and back of him in corners. Once he calms down and improves his technique and fitness he may do very well. Interesting to see how it all plays out in the coming years for him. Seems like a good young man.

Maybe you should be his riding coach? Hell, you could just take out the post from Bobby and Coyote and share them with Zach.. Between the 3 of you, he should learn how to ride properly, have heart and maybe order some pool supplies. Fuck, what the hell does he need Geico for? Fuckin joke here sometimes.

Just because you have a ride, doesn't mean you're the best. Maybe Geico hired him thinking they could knock the habit he has of crashing. If that's the case, so far no good.

Pointing out that a rider frequently crashes is not always derogatory, it can simply be an accurate assessment of reality.

OP wasn't slamming Bell he was just asking a very simple question for the purpose of bench racing.

You internet fiends are so eager to hop into a debate to join a team and blindly defend your cause; it gets so freaking annoying especially when it's a situation like this.
Couldn't have said it better.

No motocross rider should ever make a joke of anyone's injury. It can happen to any of us,any time. Shame on you BM.

of all the shit thats said on this site and in this thread, your worried about bobby making a joke that he obviously was sarcastic before he even said it. everyone needs to walk on glass around here now? if you actually read the whole thread, bobby was complimenting Zachs skills a few posts back. They already announced hes just gotta heal up so pretty sure he's gonna be ok. And i think bobby knows a thing or 2 about being an injured rider or something.

Back brace for 8-12 weeks. Hopefully he comes back strong in what I assume will be the East Coast 250 Class. He must have crashed hard. He just needs to not push the envelope and ease into the pro scene. It's obvious he has the starts and speed to compete.

You are friggin asswipe! Zach must have handed your ass to you a few times for you be such a douchebag! You keep flapping your cockholster like you could do better!

If you really knew anything about Zach's amateur days, you'd know he was dominant on 65's and mini's, especially the supermini's! Yes the last two years have been rough, the worst was a start crash that wasn't Zach's doing, he got clipped by someone else, went down in the first turn and got run over and his pelvis fractured. Not his fault, but it snowballed into several subsequent injuries, probably from trying to get back to racing too early. But I'm sure you already knew all of this, since you're such a fucking genious!!

Seriously, there are some real keyboard commandos who probably couldn't ride their way through an open field without wadding their stupid asses up.... Buncha fucksticks I tell ya!

Damn it.....that is some tough luck right there.

I dunno.....me personally....no matter how fast a kid is.....they should be a certain size and weight before attempting to jump in the 250 class at national speed. I KNOW , i know......the kid hauls the mail......but he's awfully small on that bike. I'd give his body a little more time to mature.

Get well soon Zach.
