Maybe these riders should start training and not blame the bike !

The crashes usually happens late in the Motos , to me that is a sign of not being able to hold on or have the right riding position on the bike ...tired !

Problem is that all this talk about the Yama being weird in handling department ( Stewart seemed to be the first to kind of state it after unadilla 2010) seem to become some kind of unfair blame from pro riders " aaa the bike just thru me off , I don't know what happened" . All the bad talk that has just grown and grown the last 2 seasons seems to be used as an excuse for not doing good.

I promise they would not say one bad thing about it if they started to win races on it. God knows what happened if Stewart had not tangled and broken his hand in sx 2010. Maybe he had won on his first season on the new gen yz450f...I can almost garanty that this bike would have had a different reputation today. But everything started so bad with that js7 accident and after that everything just got worse and worse with Stewart struggling with injuries and
lack of bike time . The bike got most blame and the bad circle was in full swing.
"I promise you they would not say one bad thing about it if they started to win races on it." Isnt that the point, they cant win races on it? James did win Daytona on it but was still ready to get the fuck off it because it was spitting him off. Nobody seems to want to ride the bike for a reason. As far as pro's go, they dont like the bike. If some weekend warrior's like the bike cool. But they will never make the bike go as fast as a pro, so their opinion is moot

Agree, nobody can win on the Yamaha reverse technology crap. Cool idea but it's not working for top national caliber riders, Period.

My friend that went to the premiere of RV's movie was supposed to go with RV in the limo but RV was running late signing a 3 year deal with Kawi so he didn't go in the limo. He also is going to do a season of GP's before he retires so that he can say he has won everything.

KTM is the only thing winning right now in the 450 class.....guess a bunch of guys better change bikes ASAP if they want a chance, and Stewies out from a crash on the Suzuki....guess he should have signened with KTM tooSmile

all kidding aside...I agree that some riders and thier style don't suit differnt bikes, but to say any current bike can't win is a strech....

"going to do" or "would like to do"?

The homepage interview leans more towards the "would like to do"

I think you mean Dungey is the only thing winning right now.

Why couldn't JGR use the new WR450 as a base to build their bike from? It is a conventional type 450 engine in a 250F frame. There were plenty that were built to be certified for AMA competition. It would be no problem to change gear ratios and suspension and be within the rules. It might be a much better base than what they have.

ha ha, why do people assume its the reverse engine that may (I say may because the facts aren't there regardless of what is said on here) cause issues? The frame is all new as is most everything else on the bike so maybe it the new frame that causes the issue and the setup is just harder to figure out. With more time, the right setup direction could be found and all of a sudden your all saying the bike is the best! Or the supposed fram tweak in 14 may fix it all and its the number one winner....don't jump to conclusion based on incomplete facts..duh

And you have all the facts there Captain Mensa? If you had any reading comprehension skills you might catch the "might" in the last sentence, duh to you.

I haven't heard anyone complain about the 250F since the new model came out in 2010.

Not that it matters for US mx industry ...Swedish Yamaha prorider, Mats Nilsson is infact racing on a 2012 mx converted WR450 in the Swedish National MX Championship.

I'm surprised Yamaha Scandinavia is OK with it but apparently they are.

helluva an idea...hell just add some lights and a mirror and you can ride it home after the race or maybe hit a midnight endurocross at the local fair grounds

old technology isn't gonna hang with cutting state, edge of the art technology...no way.

Yamaha would go cray!
Is it that hard to put a z in crazy? Or is this a new word? I saw somebody wearing a shirt that said that on it, another lame trend I guess.

I remember what the shirt said now....That shit cray.......looked foolish to me, but maybe I am just getting old, anyway, back on topic.

People take one little comment from RV and turn it into an elaborate plan.

I don't think I would be a disaster for Kawasaki if they would lose Villopoto. Of course Villo is the man to beat at the moment but if they can't afford him then there are plenty other alternatives on the way. Personally I would choose Pourcel (yeah I know, most of the guys here hate him) as a back up plan if RV doesn't stay. Pourcel can really run with those guys and rides kawasakis at the moment. He would never say no against a factory Kawi deal. Besides they have Baggett coming up in 2 years ...
meh. they let guys go around their peak. they have a history of this. they survive.

the last 2 guys to leave obviously overshot their expectations in terms of performance once they left.

it wouldn't be the worst thing if rv left. they have decent guys in the pipe ready to come along. bb/ac

Bobby, this is not old technology MXA has just done one that Dennis Stapleton has been riding. The engine is FI and it is a new frame. Check out the link. It may not work and it may not even be better, but it is being used in Europe.
