Big Nasty (Mandingo heavy) with Nick in Rochester.
Fused three vertabrae Sunday, as I understand. Not sure what the dislocated hip status is.
Motocross can be rough!

Heal up, Nick! You may not feel too great right now, but your fans want you back on the track!

It amazes me that there wasn't much info on his crash or on his well being. With him being as popular as he is there should have been more info on his whole status. With that being said Get well soon Mr. Wey. The sport needs you.

I should explain, I am not a Doctor or even a Team member, but Nick has needed the back surgery since SX and it was already in the plans.
At Millville Nick crashed in the sand whoops early in the race and dislocated his hip. Dr. Bodner and Allan Brown, the TiLUBE Team manager, tried to put the hip back into place ON THE TRACK!
Anyway, while he was in the hospital, they decided to do the back surgery.
At least that is the way it was relayed to me.

Nick and his parents were planning on heading home last night, if he was released. Dislocated hip, cracked vertebrae that needed fused. His crash (and the resulting bike bounce out into Spring Creek) will likely be shown often.... I just hope it's not the last time he races.

Ironically, Spring Creek is the site of his one and only national win, back on August 15, 1999 on a Pro Circuit Kawasaki.

Cool Nick Wey fact: He finished in the top ten of the 125 Class in MX, then East Region MX, then MX again, between 1998 and '99. Check it out in The Vault: http://vault.racerxonline.com/rider/nicholas-wey/races

That's quite generous of you to extend best wishes on behalf of the whole country of France LOL j/k. Young riders should take a lesson from Nick. He's hasnt been a top 5 guy since what 2006? Yet he has a ride every year because of his great attitude and people skills. Get well NYK!! Oh and 3 vertibrea fused? GEEZ

Will he be coming back for 2013, or are the injuries severe enough to where he's gonna call it quits at his age?

Random off-topic fact from the very same vault is that JT$ is one of the only riders ever to place himself ahead of first place: http://vault.racerxonline.com/2007-01-20/sx/angel-stadium
