7th overall on the day.

Not bad for a privateer rookie.

I agree he had a great day. I put a post up about him in the other thread and someone said he might have been in B class last year. either way the kid did awesome. The best part about it is that he did it on his own bike. I like seeing kids like this do good and I hope someone out there that can help him notices also.

If he keeps this up he won't be a privateer much longer!

It has been a good week for Cole. July 1st, it was announced he will represent Canada at the MXoN in MX3, and today a top 10 performance at Red Bud.

Awesome ride for the Canadian! Following in the footsteps of rollerball, JSR, Jason Frenette, Lange, Shane Drew, guys that weren't afraid to throw down against the top guys in the world. Very impressive.

Is that the only one he's going to run?

Not sure of your question. Cole has qualified at each national except Hangtown (I don't think he attended that round). He has scored points at Freestone and Budds Creek. He is currently in 18th place with 44 pts and plans on racing the rest of the series. He raced the 250 in SX with mixed results.

Just to put this into perspective. Cole drives to each round and is 100% privateer. Forget what country he's from check out the supported riders he beat yesterday. He was 7th O/A the next guy that compares to his situation was Derek Anderson in 16th and Heath Harrison in 22nd. He finished ahead of a lot of riders with a lot more support.

Amazing to me.

Oh, I didn't realize he has been racing all the rounds. I was assuming since he is doing the Can Nats that he only hit this round.

Red Bud was Cole's 5th pro outdoor race. Yes Cole was a B rider last year with a LL 450B title as one of his 28 US Amateur titles. After finishing 2nd behind Matt Goerke in his first ever supercross last fall in Montreal he turned down very good offers for money and bikes to race in Canada this year. A pair of 9th place finishes in the 250 East this winter gave a glimpse of his ability. Cole has a terrific family supporting his goal to prove himself against the very best in the world. He has a great group of friends on both sides of the border cheering him on. Jami and the people at THOR have been long time supporters. Canadian heroes, Rollerball and JSR were very successful pro's when they started having their best races in the US so Cole's accomplishments this year look that much more impressive. He's a throwback to a different era. Put him on a big bike, little bike, indoors, outdoors, he just wants a starting line with the toughest competition in the world.

Always cool seeing a privateer putting it to the guys pitting out of the big semi trucks. Kids got a cool style.

I think it is cool he is fishing in the big pond. Can be a bit hard on the ego at times I'm sure, but that is the only way you are going to be great.

Love Canadian MX, but as Dusty Klatt told me once about the American series, "that is a tough game!".

Cole races this red bud track quite often, and its safe to say he is nearly a local racer at this venue . A top 10 ride is very respectable for him either way ,hope he finds his way onto a good team in 2013.

the scary thing here is...................

some yamaha team will want him to fill in for some injured rider..offer him free tickets to the track and no cost race (support). if he takes the deal he'll suffer in results if not wad up and get hurt like the rest of them. I hope he doesn't take one of those fill ins.

he rode spectacular for a privateer. hope he keeps it up and gets some backing to keep rolling.

Cole grew up racing tracks like Baja Acres on the East side of Michigan (a relatively short drive over the bridge from his home in Ontario). He was always fast on 80s, but man has he excelled in the pro classes. I was certainly cheering him on at RedBud and am glad to see him doing so well. He definitely has proven himself worthy of a good ride.
