A 71-year-old Arizona man has died following a crash Thursday, June 28, at a Lake Elsinore motocross park.

Coroner's officials identified the man as Charles Wayt of Show Low.

Both Wayt and another motorcyclist were taken to a hospital with critical injuries following the 10:30 a.m. crash at Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park, 20700 Cereal Street, a Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department news release said. An update on the condition of the other rider was not available Friday.

Coroner's officials said Wayt, who was wearing a helmet, fell off his bike and was struck by another motorcycle. He died less than an hour later at Inland Valley Regional Medical Center in Wildomar.

Well, I think that would be the way I want to go, either that on on the downstroke. RIP.

At 71.....Mr Wayt went out on his shield!! I'll bet he couldn't have picked a better way to go , as he was doing something he loved. I feel bad for the family but the guy was enjoying his life in the sport he loved. God speed Mr wayt.

A very good friend of mine passed away on his bike a couple years ago at a favorite riding spot. He spent his last day doing what he loved, at a place that meant so much to him, with his entire family. He was taken too soon, but it was easier for all of us knowing he wouldn't have wanted it to go down any other way. Love you and miss you Slade.

Godspeed Mr. Wayt. To all the friends and family, take solace knowing he died a happy man.

You don't hit the track at 71 if you don't love it, good for him honestly. RIP.

RIP Mr. Wayt.

We all gotta go at some point, can't think of a better place than an MX Track, rather than at home shrivled up with cancer or drooling with a stroke.

RIP moto brother. Sorry for the family and in no way demeaning their loss but honestly...if I told people my Paw Paw got killed racing Motocross...my chest would be kinda puffed up. Probably one hell of a dude.

Sad deal for the ones who'll miss him, but atleast they know he went out doing what he TRULY loved. And I say truly because riding at 71 shows his passion and is very inspiring.

Rest in peace, Wayt.
