It's pretty simple. If you're in a position to help and want to, great. If not, STFU.
Thank you. Again, best wishes to Josh

Update:

Hello all, this is Marc Janni and I'm friends with Josh. I visited Josh today at the hospital and he's staying strong and positive. Josh broke his tibia which exited his leg on his right leg and crushed every bone in his left foot. He also had a separated shoulder that was put back into place. Josh had surgery on his right leg this morning and will have another one in the morning. They put a steel rod down his leg to fix it. The orthopedic surgeons are still trying to figure out what they are going to do about his left foot. They say he will not be able to run anymore and will probably have to walk with a cane. Also, Josh lost a lot of blood and has had to have two blood infusions.

Josh was about to jump a step up table top and was pinned in 4th/5th gear when his bike locked up on the face of the jump and threw him off the bike. He landed about 15 feet passed the landing area.
This jump is about 70-75 feet in length. So he flew almost 90 feet.

Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery!

4/5th pinned for a 75 foot jump? Sounds like he would have way over jumped unless it was a 125.

What kind of bike?

If it was his bike, it was a mostly stock YZ250 and the jump in question has a near vertical face. It's also right out of an S-turn so it takes some effort to make the distance.

I guess the Internet is an insurance coverage program as long as you have a recognizable name.
Josh is always one to volunteer his time for good causes that are MX related. If anyone deserves a little help from the industry/fans, it's him.

Via the miracle of the interwebz, the jump in question I believe is at the 30 second mark.

Josh's injuries are beyond bad. I understand the crushed bones ruptured an artery and he was in grave danger of bleeding out. Josh has a good heart, loves moto and was making a transition to life outside professional racing. Just having fun doing what we all love. He'll need some support just as we all would in this situation.

It just goes to show you, it doesn't matter if you are fighting for a supercross title, or just out having some fun....this sport can get you. Again, thoughts and prayers going out to him and his family.

If not, STFU.

Except the occasional STFU. wink

Met Josh at an Arenacross, like everyone else has said, super cool guy, plus didn't he hit, errrrr, bang, errrr, date Ms. Cline?

Well I didn't meet him, my kids did,(as I was standing off to the side trying to figure out camera settings) and anyone one who takes the time to talk to the kids, mine or anyone elses, is cool wit me.

Is the "T" silent?

Hey, are you going to the Glen Helen Red Bull X-Fighters sponsored in part by Swatch and Fox?

I was thinking of going. I've never been to an X-Fighters event.

(In other words, yes, I'm going.)

I heard today Josh's leg didn't survive the injuries he suffered a little while back. Good luck Josh , you're a bad ass and I know you'll be kicking Ridge's ass at extremities in no time.

Anybody got any solid updates on how Josh is going?

"I heard today Josh's leg didn't survive the injuries he suffered a little while back."

Is this confirmed? If so I would have to think it was his left foot and ankle that was injured, and not his right tibia? It would be fairly extreme for someone to lose their leg from a compounded tibia...

I can only assume the above video was filmed quite some time ago and he's talking about last years injury?

Can anyone shed some light on this subject? Here's hoping for a positive outlook for Josh's future.

EDIT: Sorry Ramrod I took a while typing my post. Your post wasn't there when I started

I haven't heard anything as of yet.....but if Josh lost part of his leg because of nerve damage and so forth.....that really sucks! I have to other friends that have both lost their legs from the knee down because it was causing them so much pain 24-7......that they just cut it off. No mo more pain now. I feel really bad for Josh if this ends up being true. Didn't this wreck happen right after he retired from the AX tour?

Sounds like what happened to my cousin, Tib/fib broke and never healed right, Yr later and tons of pain he went in and had it lopped off below the knee. Walks around better now than he did in that yr.

It was a thrill to see him ride in Moncton, and I gave a quick hello to the Sheriff to tell him that. Try to emulate his awesome style the best this mere mortal can. Jeez, I think he was just healed up from a previous bad crash. Coolest dude ever, hope the surgeries go well.
