how great for the sport would it be if the new crop of AM riders coming into the pro ranks could sign a long term deal that could then be traded if the riders results justified a BIG team trading/buying them. Imagine more than just a handfull of riders actually making a living.

Like baseball.....Could justify a minor MX/SX league.

I was at SLC this weekend and while I was filling out the form for my very slim chance at winning a JGR YZ450 the dude asked me if I wanted to fill out a cheer card. I said "Sure, i have something funny for it" to his response, "nothing vulgar" No problem, I wrote JAMES WHO??? on the card and the dude said "you can't put that!" "why NOT??? It isn't vulgar!" He took my cheer card and ripped it up! I said "yeah, we just want to see James race but he's too much of a pussy to show up for these events!" The guy kinda grinned and said "yeah, no comment on that." as we walked away laughing.

I'll believe James is racing whatever when I see him on the line with the 30 second board going up!!!

Another question.....

JGR is the media mogul (David Evans JS's old manager) and never misses an opportunity to get the team and sponsors name out there. JS7 publicly stated he was racing the outdoors.....why hasnt JGR put out a press release saying JS7 is racing the outdoors for JGR?
Sports with trades have a collective bargaining agreement in place between owners and players. MX is like an open market, much like we all work in. Imagine going to work next Monday and finding out you've been traded to a company in Alaska.

It would be possible if JGR somehow got a trade clause into James' contract which would mean he should fire his lawyers/agent immediately and bang his head against a wall. The big boys in many sports have enough clout to demand no-trade clauses in their contracts.

Why would any team sign a long term deal? If the guy sucks it up, no one is going to want to "trade" for him, and they'll be stuck with him. If he does better than his current contract dictates, the rider will hold out and break his contract anyway. Another lovely aspect of these other sports. The NFL has guys demanding new contracts 3 years into a 6 year deal because they suddenly did better than expected.

Where's the PR ? I'm not saying it isn't happening but why would JGR just release him with the possibility of him coming out and beating guys on their bikes.

Because James and his family are really nice people. And James hasnt given JGR one good reason to be vindictive and hold him down. JGR are human, they know James is struggling so they see no reason to make the situation ugly.

Seriously, James is and has always been a nice kid. That goes a long ways in a situation like this.

Holding someone to a signed contract is not being vindictive in my opinion.

By the way, pretty nuts how the letters in the "MOTO HOSE" look like hoses. Don't believe me? See for yourselves... Proof:

Proof:
Yes the ends of our logo lettering is Hoses. Thank you for noticing. That sir is called attention to detail.....same attention to detail we put into each and every hose we produce.

Here is an even larger one for you to scrutinize.

Nor is it necessarily smart in this area.

I believe that when coach Gibbs recruited James the he believed whole heartedly that they could give James the bike he was looking for, and if that is not the case maybe he feels it would not be right to hold James back. There is really more to a signed contract than words written on the paper, you have a choice to honor your true intentions if you want, the words are just a insurance policy in my opinion. Coach Gibbs may have enough money that he can do what he thinks is right and not what greases his pocket book. That would be pretty amazing in my book.

You know, those stupid Toyota pit board looking things that everybody has at the race. Funny as hell when the guy took it from me. I wanted to be on TV with my "James Who???" card damn it!

Yes, I did Anaconda. Was a miserable race in the dust but I managed 3rd in the +30A and took a little cash home with me for the effort. Headed to Billings this weekend for round 1 of the BSMXC series. Should be fun as the Billings track is getting redone all this week.

If JS7 was "traded" the team JGR could sell off the remaining contract to the new team.

To be released from the curent JGR contract an agreement would have to be come to by the lawyers and since JS7 wants to be on a different bike and wants out of the 3 year deal ....JS7 has honored 1/6 of his contract by racing 1 of the 6 series (2012 SX) he was under 3 year contract to race. Minimum JS7 will need to return $$$$$ to get out of his contract.

If JGR wanted to play hard ball ..... they could hold JS7 to his contract till it runs out keeping him off the track. With only top runner RD5 left for the nationals JS7 has said he will race the Nationals.... could be JS7 now thinks the bike is OK to go against RD5? Bonus $$$ for the championship????

Or did JS7 tweet about being on the line at the 1st National ........ mean he will escort his brother to the line???
